Popped along for a final drive of the 340R with Father G for a wee look

Good Turn out last night with a lot of well kent faces going red in the positively mediterranean sunshine

A few highlights for me

Alan - Your car is almost as stunning as your wife

Andy - You never fail to disappoint with committed driving (and not so committed drive shafts)

Robin - Getting Black Flagged for Andy's driving on the previous lap
(Marshall must be on drugs confusing FBF for Andy) :D

Mass - Busiest driver with the Loudest car on the track

A cold pint of guinness at the Tormaukin with Robin and Father G

The "final" drive home to Crieff in the 340r. The car is driving as new.... and the K series howl coming down Glendevon at reasonable tuts was a joy.
The end of an era?............Still Game will be back in some shape or form and new threads on SE might appear like "Cigar Lovers" , "Restaurant Reviews" and other "Gentlemenly Pursuits"

:cheers

:damnfunny Didn't know that! What was wrong with Andy's driving? Too much sideways :damnfunny I missed to talk to most people as I was busy on the track (did about 75 laps). It was great to see so many SEers turning up. The 340R looked fantastic Paul. Sorry to see it go but I am sure you've already had as much pleasure out of it as you could. Just gutted I never got to pax in it :(

Andy (Flip) glad you've enjoyed the pax. You have a very nice looking Exige S :thumbsup Will be good to see it on track soon. As for no TC, you will find when you start driving on track, they really hinder you.

Jen, it was good to see your very orange s1 with flames coming out at the back.

AndyG, we never get to chat properly (as always)!!!! Will see you at KH at 9am on this Sat. My Diablo is SORNed so will come along in the CR.

Looking forward to seeing all of you soon.

Another good night in the KH sun, and nice to meet a few people. Thank you Graham for organising.
Car going OK, still some issues with a recalcitrant gearbox making selection of the correct (or any) gear less than certain at the hairpin occasionally, but the recent installation of Powerflex engine mount stiffeners has certainly improved things. Can't help thinking the g/b will go the way of Scotty's in due course but will worry about that when it happens :| .

Actually was on a slow down lap, pulled over behind another slow car to let someone by, and was struggling to check my mirrors to merge back in, and inadvertantly passed round the outside of the other car, who as still doing 20mph round Clarks. Wasnt intentional, just couldnt believe his speed difference to myself. Oooops.

Spoke to KH race control who just said " Fair enough. Well done for getting out of the way and avoiding any contact" :damnfunny

Agreed, thanks Graham!
2nd gear issue could just be a tweak of adjustment - seems to go just out of adjustment when proper warm on track...

A great night, chat and banter from one of the moochers!
Thanks to Ian for a run and a shottie in the sublime GT3. Actually my 911 driving cherry but what a way to do it. Needs a slightly different driving style but really rewards when you start getting up to speed and the front tyres loaded. :D
Friendly beast too, smearing the rears at the hairpin (sorry, I'm sure they cost a pretty penny!).

Good fun sitting alongside some Lotus track noobs. Chris picking it up well but I guess my advice didn't help Steph avoid a spin when his dad got back beside him.
(thanks for the wee shottie too Pete) :thumbsup

The traffic was very heavy last night. I only got a very few clear laps.

The speed difference between the CR and CSR (the caterham on slicks) was sooo great at Clarks, I had to get out of his way quickly to let him by. Got the rear wheel on the grass and the CR fish tailed for ablout 70 yards before I regained the full control. Think it was entertaining for Pete :damnfunny

Was indeed a good night . Mass your regaining control was very impressive after catching the edge of the track :D and Ali it was no problem and cheers to you for taking Stef out to pop his track cherry also his Exige cherry , even though he spun exiting chicane(power on to quick) he was calm and unfussed and carried on for another couple of laps.

Yup, he picked it up really well! A few points to correct as you'd expect but overall :thumbsup
(We overtook a fair few cars!)

How could the traffic be heavy with 25 cars?

SIDC and TT both have around 60 with no problem.

Top night just a shame it ended up in sls (but thanks Ali for taking it in!) :thumbsup
Andy was going to come over and introduce myself to you and try and blag a passenger run in the 340r, but you appeared to have your hands full trying to fix it. Hopefully get a run at TT. Looked great going around until all the smoke!!

Agree about the traffic, had to get out the way a few times to let a train of much faster cars through. The cars all seemed much more bunched up on track, as shown by the train of the three 911 hooning round together for the last 10 minutes or so. Glad i didn't get in the way of them.

It was surprising - have been out on SIDC days where track deserted. Found a bit of empty space prior to the 911 water incident but after that seemed pretty busy. There was a gaggle of race Minis that appeared later on, but they were OK because easy to pass on straights and they were mostly pretty quick on twisty bit so no great hold ups.

Aww, thanks Iain! I asked Alan if he saw that, and he said "yeah, but that could also mean he thinks the car is a heap" Cheeky Bam that he is! :damnfunny

Robin, thanks for the advice, he has taken what we spoke about on board and will be doing it.
Cheers for that.

Top weather, top company, top night.

It did seem busy for a small number of cars, I guess everyone was getting out and enjoying the conditions. Did anyone else think that the drifting boys had left us a sticky track?

Pleasure to meet Alan, Jen, Andy and all the others I hadn't met before. It was a pleasure to be driven by Ali "Mr Smooth" Crozier - even if he did jump the pit lane light ever so slightly

Isn't it about time we had a Scottish Elises organised track night?

Cheers
