Webber as "team mate" should have given him more room.

Webber didn't give him any room at all, he left a gap in the "bad part of the track" and Vettel decided to try to utilize it then drove across Webber to force his way in. So Vettel's fault, firstly for making the wrong decision with the overtake, secondly for pulling in to soon, and thirdly for being Vettel!

Yip, good article from Martin......I'd blame Vettel for the actual contact since he clearly turned right into Webber....but Marko isn't without blame, it was totally pointless to squeeze his teammate like that, especially since he was running on fuel save mode and Vettel wasn't, so he had absolutely no chance of keeping him behind for the remaining 10-12 laps therefore if he hadn't got past on that move, then there's no doubt he would have been past before the end of the lap..... Webber should have yielded and settled for 2nd.....unfortunately the racer in him took over and carnage ensued:-)

Ignoring the fuel saving bit, because if Weber was in that mod then it's fair to assume Vettel should have been as well, these are race drivers. Would you settle for second place? bloody sure I wouldn't hand it to him on a plate. You would at least make it awkward for him. Nobody is criticizing Button and Hamilton for there overtaking and they touched at one point. These guys are there to race and win, we would all be moaning like good un's if every time team mates were leading a race nobody had a go. Vetal was right to try and take the lead and Weber was equally right to defend his position. It sucks for the team I agree but which is more prestigious the drivers title or the constructors. Put it this way most will remember who the world champ was 2 years ago but who won the constructors. We follow drivers before we follow teams IMHO. So good on you Weber, and tough sh!t Vettel. Bottom line it was a racing incident and it was Vettels fault (because he is German and a cock )

I only watched it last night and the only accusation you could lay at Webber was that he didn't lube up and bend over.

I understand Vettel only had one lap left before also having to go to fuel save mode so if Webber had kept him behind that lap then the race was his. He was totally in the right in my book, fair enough avoid contact but don't give it away...

Vettel should have held his line, maybe he would have made it stick mid corner and exit...maybe Webber would have had him back...that would be racing.

I think that the whole world and Weber could see the underlying theme here but no one was manning up and saying it ( and they still aren't as its speculation).

Disappointing if that is factual and Red Bull are favouring Vettel especially now that Webber is ahead in the championship - does that mean the tables are turned and Vettel has to tow the line..... I guess time will tell.
