Dom

Why?

Are you getting hung up regularly on the chassis

If yet then go for it if no why bother it just makes it more liable to fall over.

if cash is burning a hole in your pocket get some diff protectors and an uprated steering bar as they are mostly likely to cause hassle

My defender has zero lift as it don't need it

Shrek does have a 2 inch lift as it has a big sod off rollcage and little wheels so the lift kit gives extra chassis clearance and the smaller wheels means its less likely to fall over. And the big rollcage mean if it does fall over i drag it upright again.

One cheap mod to improve performance at trials is to adjust you steering stop till the front wheels just rub on your radius arms as then you have the smallest turning circle you can get which is helpful in trials
Landrover 90 = Muddy shed spec
Fiat panda = Couldn't care less spec
Landrover ?? = Muddy shrek spec
Unimog 404S = Very slow silly offroader spec
Kubota F1900 = Snowplough spec

Why;

The shock absorbers on it are goosed; so if replacing, thought we may as well do a lift? The wheels we have on it have a decent offset, so the tip-ability of it should not be too badly effected. (besides which, it would be cool if it was a bit taller :oops: )

I may need to investigate the steering mod you suggested.

We have a steering guard & diff guards on it already. :thumbsup

Well, we went to a driving day at Drumclog on Sat & Sunday. We had great fun. Really impressed at how capable it was off road. Will get some pics up in due course, but here it when it arrived home;

It was also deployed several times on Sunday to rescue a fellow SE'r in his defender :mrgreen:

Will deffo be doing more driving days. Drumclog was a great venue, with a bit of everything; big bumps, bogs, trees (to go through & over) rivers, big hills, and lots of mud!
