This guy also seems to get very good feedback on the Porche forums as someone who can source cars to your requirements:

Closer to home, I receievd some great help and advice from Graeme Shepherd at Porsche Edinburgh. He is a real enthusiast, having worked as a mechanic before moving over to the sales side, so he understands what these cars are about.

No affiliation to any of the above, and apologies if this is teaching granny to suck eggs.......

A mate of mine has just traded in his '57 plate GT3 for a brand new 997 Turbo. Pic below from my tracknight at end May (with a stunning 111s in the background which is also about to go up for sale !). He just got the Turbo a couple of weeks ago. From Edinburgh dealership I think so might still be there but could find out where for sure if interested as nothing at all wrong with the GT3 - he just found it a bit extreme for his needs.

Looks cracking! I think they sold this pretty much as soon as it arrived though, as they have nothing now, and the sales chap mentioned that they had just sold a used one!

Oh well, still looking. Found a nice one with pretty much the full house of options that i want, just havent heaqrd of the dealer and a possible mint gt3 rs ats ensible coin may also hove in to view.

Thanks for the advice guys - drove the boxster s to the borders today and spent the trip wishing it wasa GT3!!!! :D

Unfortunately you will find that the GT3 market is like this. The good ones never hang around long, and many sell without ever coming on to the open market. It is not helped by the fact that numbers are limited. I forget the actual figures, but there were only around 300 - 400 Gen 1 cars (total of GT3's and RS's) imported originally, and a good few of those are no longer around.

Demand is also affected by the trackday season. RS's and Clubsport GT3's will always be sought after for track use, so making them even more difficult to find. It wil pay to be proactive - phone around and let people know what you are looking for, but be prepared to wait a while to find the right car.

that would be immense,
suppose you could swap the suspension and rollbars out for some softer ones and add carpets from a salvaged car

In that colour - possibly mate.

I love the V12 Vantage to bits, but I think you'll have problems moving on one that's the same colour as a vet's forearm...

Similar running costs to Vanquish?
£4K/year servicing
£2.6K/year warranty
Tyres and pads £1600
£300/month on odds 'n' ends
8 mpg
huge depreciation

It would be like taking a shower dressed in a dinner suit ............ripping up £50 notes.

There are only two makes of car that most insurers will not offer Gap Cover on finance

Aston and Range Rover

You could however.... go for the double :D
