What engine does it have, 2.0 TS?
Could make one good car from yours and mine? I'd stick it on Gumtree and get shot tbh.
As much as I think they're ovrtated, I'm still tempered by another.

I hear scrap metal is getting good money these days....
Either that, or an autotest.

How old is the car?
The official 'scrappage' scheme may have finished, but a few places are still running 'swappage' schemes on new cars. Volvo one seems a good deal, if they have a car which interests you, but there are decent deals on Vauxhalls also. Peter vardy website has a few decent deals :-

Do nothing to the car, trade it in. Will probably only be driven to the back of the lot awaiting a trailer to the auction anyway at that age etc.

Car's a 52 plate, and the scrappage/swappage scheme isn't really suitable anyway (i.e. buying brand new.)
I've put it in today to at least get the clutch cylinder done. He's going to take a look over the suspension to see whether there's likely to be an issue come MOT time which might help my decision as to whether it's worth getting timing belts done.
I'm tending towards doing the minimum to get it running and then selling. Although no idea what I'd replace it with, nor how much I'm prepared to spend. I can't really face having a crappy Astra-type car (no offence Astra owners - that's just Alfa owner snobbery!)

Re: What do you do with an aging model? (NLC)
Got the slave cylinder replaced, polished it up, and put it up for sale.
Absolutely staggered at the lack of interest (you'd think everyone knew it was fecked), even when I'd reduced the price to barely above trade-in level.
Only two serious enquiries in 6 weeks - the first was an Alfa enthusiast so was put off when he realised the timing belt was due; the second was coming to view last week, so I went out to ensure the battery wasn't flat, scrub up the brakes, etc - drove around the block and the exhaust went big style. I knew the back box was corroded, but this came on so suddenly I guess the pipe had separated somewhere.
So, no other option but to take it to Mr Clarke's at the weekend. Much as it pains me to buy from a dealer, I gave them the car and £6k and got a <1yr old white Panda 100hp in return; taxed and serviced with 2yr warranty remaining (plus I'll get a fair bit back from the Alfa's road tax.)
A different beast, but should be fun and will cost me next to nothing to run.
