Thanks Tut,
Won't be able to get the time off to attend which is a shame as I've not been on track all year and I was one of only three SE'rs to do the original BAT full track day.
Cheers

Don't know if I will make it now Mike.
My left back wheel has a wobble on it that everybody behind me saw, will jack up and check today, doubt if it will be a wheel bearing as it has held out for so many miles. Not so noticeable from inside on the straight, feels like a wheel out of balance, but does not like tight corners.

Re: Bookatrack at Knockhill
I'm trailering so will trundle down early, will be too slow to run in convoy. You'll probably pass me on A90, plan to fuel up either at the Shell just past Bridge of Dee or in Dundee. Although a nice day forecast, trailer gives option of carrying loads of fuel, also have barely legal tyres on 2-11.
Regarding tyre's, I have been a bit remiss and did not order up a new set early enough and might struggle to make this set last a full day. Oulton the other week was a bit harder on them than anticipated. Jonny is bringing a set of rears for me but he has no fronts. There is a set of fronts at Murray's though.
Is anyone coming up from Edinburgh who could possibly collect the pair of fronts for me this afternoon in Sighthill? Failing that, can always nip down myself at lunchtime to collect with RR, should not take too long.

Re: Bookatrack at Knockhill
Just jacked the car up and put it on axle stands so that I could spin the rear wheels. No sign of anything mechanical, wheel bearing quiet, no vertical or horizontal movement, rear toelink tight etc. Took the wheel off to check that it had been put on square, and there was ali shavings on the wheel face that I cleaned off. However then noticed that the brake pad pin was hanging off, the spring collette had snapped so the pads were floating free. Fitted a new pin and checked for run out again, and though there was a little, twas a lot less than original.
The pin would not have caused that on its own, but something worked so happy now that I know it is not a mechanical failure, and KH is definitely on.

That'll be the wobble I spotted after the AMP3 day? Looked like a badly out of balance tyre, or buckled wheel!tut wrote:Don't know if I will make it now Mike.

Went up to KH for 2 hours. There were many SEers there to banter.
Thanks to Mike, Tut and Alan for the pax laps.
Alan, your arm wasn't causing you much problems in term of track driving. Hope you got used to the new lines and improved the lap time by at least 1.5 seconds by 5pm.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.
