VVC manifold and injector rail.

the tech gurus will tell me if its suitable. I think it is, but there is something about ports being blocked off on the Elise?
All I know is a VVC manifold is suposed to flow more air and at this price it has to be worth a look.

Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....
Just sold one to Rich, so obviously I'm gonna say it's worth 20hp!
Seriously though - not much use on a standard engine. Flows more air, but shifts torque up the rev range - maybe a few more HP, but a slight loss of torque.
With a ported head and/or cams, the case is clearer. Standard plenum good for low down drivability, VVC plenum should give a few more HP at the top end...
Must be something in it, as the 160 uses it and it needed every trick in the book to get close to 160bhp without porting the head (it's just a cam/ecu change from the standard car - hence the lumpy idle) The PTP kits also use it.

Of course its worth 20bhp!... Not. As Shug says from my research the opinion seems to be: save the cash.
I'm fitting it as I have fettled the head to match, I have a set of porting tools available and a spare low port head for practice for a small fee....
I'm going to fit it as the head will be off and I may as well, but due to finacial constraints I have the old 48mm TB and standard exhaust manifold for now. My potential 4-2-1 is in Leeds and I have no way of getting it without even more cost....
I really don't know what is going to happen when I fit this head, it really is a shot in the dark. I'm quite proud of the fact that I didn't completely bollocks it up straight away but as for performance....
