Hotmarques - 28th Nov - 11am -3pm

Post by Andy G » Tue Nov 16, 2010 5:02 pm

Given that is actually more likely to be "lukewarm marques" who fancies it?

I'm desperate for some more outings in 2010.

Now weather will decide car choice for the day :thumbsup

You might be better off with something like this?

http://www.trackdays.co.uk/book/bookEve ... event=4645

But. Don't use the Se7en or 340 unless weather looks viable at the very last minute ;-) You need to set yourself up with some more guaranteed track time if you are going to travel ANYwhere for some action!!

Come to think of it...Oulton is on my "must drive one day list" as well. Can I stretch my birthday celebrations out by a further week, and blag my way onto this one too?!?!?!

its 11am Tut :thumbsup Perfect for the morning after

As i say weather will determine car choice, although i thought the R400 was bloody epic around the Ring, in the wet, but very very hard work, and you needed to be keyed in to everything it did, no relaxing, anywhere.

If its raining the GT3 will be in oversteer heaven again :D

Oulton - now you are talking :damnfunny

You starting the thread for this one Campbell? :cheers

Ah so, but we will be down in the Civic, and as it is a treat for Verian, lying in bed late, bucket of Bucks Fizz, which would mean even wonkier legs.........

You're damn right, Stig. I'm smokin'.

Nah, be serious, what do I know?

I was of course just sparing Mr G the trauma that is "Tepid Marques" and suggesting he returned to a more revered track (based on opinion from people who do know what they are talking about...since I have of course never driven Oulton personally).

I note that...

i just found it amusing thats all. I'm sure andys aware of other trackdays, but chose the kh date for convenience of being local. The suggestion of a track 250 miles away as a substitute made me smile :D

Obviously we would rather make every trackday more of an adventure, but kh is handy being on the doorstep, especially when he knows it so well, and wants a few laps in his new car to get accustomed.

:-)

One taste of Spa and the rest seem paltry, I'm afraid

To be fair Oulton was on my mind because it's always been high on my list of UK tracks to try out. Was talking (well shouting) to Robin about this en route home from Blitzkrieg and I confess I was curious as to when the next decent Oulton event was on...so my fingers wandered across the keyboard...and there we have it!

As I understand it, a sharp finish from work on Friday allows a sensible drive down, Travelsplodge with small beers / curry, a grand day out the next day and reasonable drive back home that night (certainly c.f. this weekend's nonsense!!).

Albeit my trackday passes from Mrs UJI are pretty much spent for the next decade or so

Oulton is epic, really glad I went despite the distance and rain. Well worth the 740 mile round trip :thumbsup

Fancy Anglesey and Rockingham, one day.

Have reason to be in Wales on business from time to time - albeit south Wales, not north! - but it might dovetail in somehow for Anglesey, which would be nice.

I need to try to re-start the UJI fund...an early casualty of the arrival of children ;-)

I fancy the Oulton trip, however i did note that the trackday site in question tells you in the booking section not to make any other arrangements, such as accom, till you have recieved their final instructions.

Didnt give me much hope.

In all seriousness, who fancies it? :thumbsup

I fancy it, Andy, but can't commit. That would be, er, taking the p!ss (at home...) 8)

Next year, maybe...next year.

I am also aware that weather could wipe it out - not just snow but a hard frost as well I guess?

i think trackdays.com just sell other companies trackdays, so when you book with them, they still need to get confirmation from whoever is running the day.

As for wether i fancy it, i think i'll stick to lotus on track for my trackday fun.
