That's the one Mike - but I put in the RRS at 6m and trailer at 8m to get the higher cost, 5m and 6m is indeed £562 which is a bargain.

Mass, guess you have to email bookatrack as it is by no means a definite that this will go ahead. There is a piece on there home page but no more info, they are looking for approx numbers to see if it will go ahead.

Any idea how much the ferry would be for just a single car?

£1,100 for the 3 TDs does make FF look good value, but not comparing like with like.

Shame it's February as I have 9 days in Florida in January. April/May would have been better.

EDIT:
£403 for the ferry for a single car with twin en-suite cabin - Portsmouth to Santander. Santander to Jerez is 570 miles. Edinburgh to Portsmouth is 450 miles. Still more than 2,000 miles of driving (at least 1k less than FF).

TDs - £1,100
Ferry - £400
Fuel - £350 (+ TD fuel)
sub total £1,850

plus grub, beer, tyres, service etc etc. Looking at £2.5k-£3k. Think I'm oot

Ferrys are very very slow.

On the way out (Plymouth->Bilbao; more or less the same as Plymouth->Santander) to Stelvio 2001 we were lucky that Ross won the jackpot on the fruity and put all the cash in the beer pot. After 18 hours or so they shut the bar :-) Still had another half day or something to put up with. One bonus of crashing my car on that trip is that we got to fly home and avoid the ferry :-) Some people decided to drive home rather than get back on the ferry!!!

It's only 1,800 miles. If we leave early we could be there for dinner ...... the next day :-)

I would love to go, but I cannot see it happening I'm afraid.

Cheers,
Robin

It is very very tempting ... if you go, you may as well do all three tracks, surely!
