Here's this weeks belter form the local rag:roll: , by the same sheriff that clobbered me...

" A ton up motorest has kept his licance- after it was claimed his mental heath would suffer without it.........

Police clocked ***** ********* traveling at 102 on the A1 at Glasmuir some time in September
Appearing at Haddington Sherriff Coart the above admitted the offence, his soliciter said his client enployed as a van driver needed to keep working to keep him away from thoughts of depression...
The lawyer told the sheriff that his client aged 27 would be banned from driving under the totting up system if he recevied mor than 9 points or more.

The main thing that keeps him on his toes and away from thoughts of depression are his family and his work, his mental health relises on his driving licance and work .

Of the incident, it appears to be a momentary lapse of judgment

sheriff fined ***** ********** £300 and added 8 points to his licance

with a degree of hesitation..

Aye right sheriff.... and I get the same fine and banned for a year on a clean licance with a resit for an extra 7 mph in a 60mph the same as this young gent..

And breath in.......... :damnfunny

So you needed to be a manic depressive to keep your license
You could argue that his mental state makes him more of a liability behind the wheel. I suspect in your case the vehicle creates a perception that makes a ban more likely : sports car = habitual speeder !!
It really annoys me that there is so much inconsistency in sentencing and even more so when habitual offenders with no insurance / license in stolen cars get a lesser penalty than law abiding citizens with taxed, insured and legit vehicles who 'cross the line' speed wise but commit no other offence.

Going to court two days after my wedding (20th) to try and avoid a 6 month ban.

Happy Christmas!

Not a "driving" offence as such Sanjoy so can't use that one.

Fingers crossed, I'm hoping for a 28 day ban tbh as that would be the best overall outcome for me rather than no ban at all. I can live with taking a month off when it's cold. :D

6 months would cause a few problems for business. :(

6 week disqualification and £200 fine. Probably the best I could have hoped for.

At least it's not 6 months and my license will come back clean. :D

Test resit? What code will be on your licence after you get it back?

No test resit. Think it's a TT99 from memory but not sure yet.
