Should i touch it ?

Post by Sean » Tue Dec 28, 2010 6:19 pm

Hi Guy's, New on here and thinking of taking the plunge and getting an Elise.

As always i've seen one going cheap and welcome your comments.

It just a weekend toy i'm after, and this caught my eye.

Don't mind a bit of work and the cat d bit doesn't really bother me too much....

Now not knowing enough about the chassis make up of them, is this a small bump or could there something more major underneath. Hard to say with out looking at it i know, But anybody have experience of any chassis problems occurring from a rear ender.

Thanks for your time guy's

I would think you could one thats not been crashed for around that, cat d repaired prices are less than that when they are fixed.( I think)

A guy on the VX site has had a number of problems that he bought from that guy.

http://www.vx220.org.uk/forums/index.ph ... ge__st__40

Now granted if you read the thread, you'll see that the guy seems to have gone into the deal with his eyes wide shut  but still i would be slightly wary of dealing with that dealer.

As Stu says you could get a non-bent car for similar money.
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

Oh and predictable plug - if your budget cant stretch to much more than that you can get Vx's for that money.

Not everyone's cup of tea I'll grant you but you'll probably find there are going to be more cars about for that money.

Cheers fella, This is my my suspicion . If it's a quick fix then why did'nt it just get done and get it moved on. (He is a breaker after all)

Think i've just answered my own question.......

Is there a good source for good second hand Elises or just a case of keeping your eye's peeled.

I would not buy from that guy. Overpriced crap!

You can get a straight car for that money!

What's going rate for a 10 year Elise then ?

What level would you get for how much money, As it stands entry level looks circa 7K.

Or am i just looking at the wrong time.

Cheers

Hi Sean,

I will be selling my 2000 W reg Azure blue elise with 25K miles on it.

This car has never been abused or out on the roads in the Winter, but I just don't have the space to keep it, and besides that I am getting too old to get in and out of it!

If you are interested PM me.
