CCI?

Post by Dundeesfinest » Wed Dec 29, 2010 5:18 pm

Currently shopping around for a new policy for my 2003 Type 23 Elise. Im 29, 3 years no claims with no points on my licence. Some of the quotes have been throught the roof to be honest. I see a lot of people raving about CCI on this forum. Silly question but what does CCI stand for? All sorts coming up in a google search using just those letters. Also is there some sort of discount for Elise Members? I see a lot of people screen dumping pages?

Thanks in Advance.

I think most people mean competition car insurance when they say CCI. Personally they've not been too cheap for me but others seem to do well out of them. But then im guessing most of their customers dont park on the street in the gorbals  :blackeye

Quite a few of us (self included) have had really good quotes from admiral multicar - but clearly theyext wont do trackday cover so you pays your money.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

Thanks for the reply. I tried multi car and was actually more expensive than I am doing both on their own which was odd! I was with Elephant before my policy ran out in September. I have always found them to be the cheapest on both my cars. This time round they seem to have bumped the price right up!

Admiral multi was cheapest for us in August but when I tried to add a corsa 1.2 to the policy last month it was more than double what we ended up paying with Barclays and the Corsa was coming in at more than the Europa !!!

Competition Car Insurance - yes. Martin appears to be a strange case (perhaps as he has a poxhaull, not a competition car ;)) Usually quote significantly better and those that have claimed don't seem to have too much of an issue with anything.

I have been with CCI with both the 340 and Evora, and their Lotus scheme gives 6 inclusive track days per year.

Very good to deal with, and they answer the phone in the uk quickly, and you speak to someone that actually does know a bit about cars!

Maybe not the cheapest if you don't need the track day cover.

I'm just off the phone to CCI (Competion Car Insurance) to get a quote.
Saved nearly £30 - they came in at just over £300 compared to my renewal with Bell who were £330 :thumbsup
6 trackdays included also.
I got a discount for being on the forum and also a discount because I have done a performance driving course at KH

Top service

Bell offered to try to match/beat it, but couldn't do the trackday cover.

I'm with Cci as well. Got Elise this year as a 2nd car and had full no claims on our main car but no separate no claims for a 2nd car.

Scottishelises counts as a registered car club as long as you mention it so gets you some discount hence the messages proving registration.
For me cos CCI and a couple of other specialists priced taking account my NCD but without a need to transfer it made a huge difference. Price for me £330 for a 44 year old with no points and was told as it was my 1st year of Elise ownership, price would still reduce after a year as 'a lot of guys crash them in 1st year'

Thanks for all the hint and tips. Im getting there slowly. Called CCI and they quoted me at £500 fully comp with 6 'free' track days cover, £250 excess, £75 excess on windscreen which they will repair up to £1k bla bla bla. I then got a call from a guy at Henderson Taylor who is offering practically the same policy but for £417.99. The only difference is the excess is £350 and not £250. Have called CCI back to see what they can do but office is closed (lucky buggars finish at 1pm!) so will call back tomorrow morning.

A driver training day will see the price reduce further with CCI

You could give Mary at REIS for a quote. Had the exige and now the 2-11 through them and really helpful and, for me at least, cheap.
