SLS Thanks Thread

Post by Lazydonkey » Tue Apr 05, 2011 7:23 pm

Just picked up the lego elise from SLS after an mot, "A" service, rack refurb and geo................and i'm impressed.

I've used Ali for a few years now and never had a problem with his work, but the new premises and the partnership with mark have really improved things. Booking a service via PM is a big plus for me (anti-social i know!) as was the run to haymarket when i dropped the car off. Likewise I've also got a stack of paperwork sitting here beside me detailing all the work carried out, and all the relevant CLCM and MOT documents. Small things but they make a big difference.

Work wise Mark and Ali accommodated my frequent questions, change of plans and request for a CLCM geo with a smile and banter...........and basically made my life much easier. To top it off the bill was more than reasonable, and much like Scott i've now got a list of "things to consider" without the normal pressure from garages to get it all done ASAP.

Good luck lads, first impressions are very good indeed. :thumbsup

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

Just to keep these thing all in one place, copied from 31st Mar post:

Used the new SLS today. It was only an A service and MOT, so nothing too challenging, but I'm pleased to report everything went as planned.

The location and layout of new premises give the business a professional feel; the personal touch of drop-off and pick-up at local public transport points was most welcome (washing the car was a nice touch too, albeit I'd done it myself on Monday!); the work was fully explained, including highlighting one or two points that may need attention soon; payment by card was supported; my paperwork was all ready and waiting; and all for a bargain price (currently discounted.)

So, all in all, I would certainly recommend to anyone wondering where to take their car next time it needs work done.

i popped in today to see Ali and Mark and check out there new setup. Its a great improvement over the old place, and i wouldnt hesitate to use them (infact the KA may be getting booked in for a bit of remedial work if i decide to keep it)

I was disgusted to find out that they didnt have any milk for the coffee though. I mean, i didnt want coffee, i never drink the stuff, but its still disgusting.

Off to a great start so far. I'm very impressed.

Ali and Mark very kindly swung by my house to collect the 5 for a full service and a few bits and pieces.

Couldn't ask for more! Many thanks :thumbsup

Agree with Ed completely, off to a great start, very impressed. Spoke to both Ali and Mark during my hunt for new suspension and was informed of my option both replacement konis through to new nitrons and where they could help me out, from patching up the old tired suspension through to new options. After AndyG pointed me in the right direction, and I purchase nitron street series

Finally got time to get my s1 over to the new premises this morning, booked in last week by phone and confirmed yesterday via PM here. Knowing that I had to get back to Glasgow asap, Mark had opened up early to allow me to get back to work for 9:30 which was ideal and gave me a lift back to Waverley, what more could I ask for. Well, due to another job in the southside of Glasgow Ali and Mark delivered the her back to me at outside work in Bath Street.

I had used Ali in the past, but like others have said paperwork was not his strong point, but I personally accepted this as his expertise was second to none. The old SLS was like its surroundings, a small cottage industry, Today when dropping off the at the new premises, it had the making of a true specialist garage, six elises stored securely inside. When the car was brought back this afternoon, the invoice, relevant paperwork (new ride height, new Geo settings etc) had been printed and the guys passed on their knowledge about the car, especially Ali with his extended test drive :D

I would and did recommend Ali based on his work he had done over the last few years for me, with Marks help, the service has been propelled into the 21st century with a bang.

What a differance, for all who have used Ali in the past, now that his work is good but the location was ermmm... Different :!:

The new premises are great and easy to find. Mark handling the calls and paper work and Ali doing the car stuff works. I was kept informed of the progress on my car and when picking the car up it was cleaned and the paper work ready.

Well done Ali and Mark :thumbsup

I got my car back from SLS today.

Was in for Nitron fitting, left & right side engine mounts, front & rear engine polybushes, full geo and an MOT. Car was handed in on Monday, had a good chat with Mark about what I wanted done and left it at that.

Got the car back today, with full paper work for the work done and the geo setup. Ali even fixed my sticking drivers window and never charged me for it which was really appreciated as it has been annoying the hell out of me for the last couple of months now.

This is the second time my car has been to SLS, first time was to the old place and this time to the new place, what a difference the new place makes.

Well done Ali and Mark, wish you all the best and will be back for my next upgrades and service sometime soon.

Had my VX serviced today. Great to see someone(Ali) working on my car who knows their stuff and spent time explaining things and answering all my questions. So booked in next week to get the engine mounts changed and powerflex bushes fitted to the front and rear torque mounts.

And thanks Mark for the bacon roll :cheers
