Add a driver and that bhp/tonne takes a massive nosedive.

also BHP/tonne is only really applicable up to 60 mph in my experience, when wind resistance etc take hold it all comes down to good old horsepower :)

Love to track that!

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Not really true.

I've had 135 & 200bhp 7s and can assure you there's a huge difference above 60 and waaay beyond 8)

I don't want doors, Windscreen or a heater. LSD and 13" a must though. Base red with a couple of decals and I'm happy.

I'm going down to Caterham to go through it all but waiting until Elise is sold, someone is coming up on Saturday to view the car.

Alan
Base car £26,500, windscreen/weather gear £1115, LSD £915, 13" wheels £215, heater £270, red paint £950, superlight decals £175

Sub total - £30,140. I'm pretty sure there is on the road charges of around £500 for factory built cars, I guess the must cover the IVA (factory cars still go through the same test) registration etc.

There is a couple of other things I'd recommend, upgraded 4 point harnesses as the standard ones are too basic, tonneau and painted grill '7' ...natch.

That's my biggest fear Mass, ive heard it gets quite toasty in the foot well. Add that to a car with no screen with a peeley walley Scot driving ........

I was speaking generically about bhp/tonne and how relatively lightweight cars with low power can struggle at bigger speeds, but then this is the internet after all

of course there is a difference, oh never mind.

I've driven loads of road miles in this type of car.

Without the windscreen and doors, after a couple of hours you're shattered... especially if you get too hot or cold.

BTW please stop posting details of nicely speced Caterhams

Take care,

Frank
