Kames TD on 24/04/2011

Post by Modena Scotland » Wed Apr 13, 2011 8:57 pm

I have some spaces left for a full day track day at Kames (http://www.eastayrshirecc.co.uk/home) on 24th April.

The compulsory annual EACC membership is 20GBP, which will enable the members to join any of the club's events in 2011. The full day track day is at 25 GBP per driver. Any car can be driven but you will need your own helmet.

For those of you who don't know Kames, it is a narrow tarmac sprint track with only one car driven at a time. So there is no pressure from other cars. You drive as slow or fast as you like.

If you are interested, please contact me.

Cheers

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Hey Mass, I would be interested in this but not sure what car I'd be using... If I can sort out the rattle from my brakes on Saturday I'd be using the Exige but if not would you mind if I was to bring my Clio? Hoping to collect it from the garage shortly. Failing that I'll be down to spectate at least :)

Is it a 7's day?

Cheers,
Jamie

Hope you all had a good day :thumbsup

Sorry I didn't make it down after all :( Didn't manage to get my brakes sorted, trip to SLS required imminently, and my Clio is still minus an engine...

Some (rubbish) pics from my wee point 'n' shoot camera from today. Good to see you again Mass (and Kevin), and to meet a couple of others too. Had I been able to stay longer I might have been tempted to take the glorified beetle on  . Cheers for the pax Mass - ludicrously quick as always  :thumbsup

It was good to see you too DJ. I am so glad Scott has decided to take the Elise on the track again. Hope you got faster as the day progressed.

Next Kames event is on 4th June. Hope to see more SE guys then.

Thanks Mass. I really enjoyed my first sunny day at Kames.

I thought I was driving reasonably quickly until I pax'd in the 2 vhpd caterhams!!

Thanks to Kevin too for a couple of pax laps.

Cheers

Cheers for organising this Mass, enjoyable track and it was great to get passenger laps in a few different cars. Was particularly impressed with the 7's, never been in one before and thought it was great. Off to Stoneleigh kit car show on Monday with my Dad as he fancies building a car and I've now got a much better idea of what ones like on track.

Thanks again.

A little late, but wanted to add my thanks to Mass for organising. Had a lot of fun in my first time there - will definitely be heading back.

I've uploaded a vid of one of the stints, on a helmet mounted cam which I've realised is a little bit high.
