There are many good guys on there, our own Bob van M is one of them, but at times they are like vultures around a carcass, just want to put forward their own uninformed opinions or slate anything that does not agree with their tunnel vision. Engine conversions are one of their bêtes noires, so if you are outside of the Round Table you will have no chance.
Don't worry though, S_E will look after you.

It was Randy doing the asking...
Who does know what he's talking about....
As I said on the SELOC thread I'm surprised it got to 7 pages before it started. I do think Paul could have handled it better IMHO but hey ho. I'm really interested in seeing it when its finished.
Oh, and I don't think you're treading on anyone's toes with this Paul. Nobody really makes their bread and butter from Elise engine conversions, there isn't really a huge market for it in reality so I'm not really sure anyone will be the slightest bit bothered from a competition point of view.
Anyhoo, wanted to say, the timing cover looks awfully close to the right hand longeron. Might just be the angle but just wondering how stiff the engine mounts are going to be if there's not a lot of room in the engine bay. Are you expecting much of an increase in NVH or is that an unknown at this stage?
Cheers
