Big thanks to Ali & Mark for your help today.
I dropped in after the Elise dumped all its coolant on Saturday. Fearing the worst, Ali took took a look and discovered it was just a loose hose connection which he sorted straight away and got me mobile again :thumbsup

Booked in next week to get flushed and coolant replaced.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Thanks to Ali & Mark @ SLS for getting the old girl back on the road after two long years in storage. Much appreciated and the service given by the guys can't be faulted. (Was never a fan of the servicing at Murray's seeing as you take a Lotus to Suzuki to be looked after but pay Aston Martin prices....) and after dealing with the guys at SLS my thought's on this have been confirmed..

I certainly will be using the SLS boys again be it with this Exige or the track hack I might end up putting together.

Just need the Ohlins put back on now and I think I might end up keeping it!

Thanks guys.

PS if you need a hand doing anything at the workshop etc then give me a shout - always keen to help out where I can.

The guys have done a great job on my VX replacing the clutch. They stuck to the price that they quoted even though it took them a lot longer and a lot more scraped knuckles than expected.
Many garages would have just given up at 5pm and told me that I wasn't getting the car back until the following day, but the guys cracked on and got it finished and back to me as promised even though it was late into the evening. :tired
Mark dropped me off at work in the morning which is a great service and also delivered the car to me at night for no extra cost.

They even commented on how I had a perished hose and so they got a hose and came round to my work this afternoon and fitted it for me in the car park. :thumbsup

Great guys, great prices and well worth using. Just don't ask them to do anything on a VX gearbox any time soon.

ETA: They also sorted out the dodgy job I did on the front brakes and adjusted the handbrake off their own back.

Did a good job of B service and fitting S2 shocks on mine, even ran the car to CLCM for me to save an extra trip - much appreciated!

Had a really good experience with the guys today.
Elise MOTd and cambelt change
Dropped off and picked up again in same day

Invoice!!!!

Was good seeing Ali alot more relaxed and happy just working on the cars. Mark's enthusiasm for front office is what's it's been missing from previous visits to SLS and the organisation that goes along with it.

I've been really disappointed with the service in the past and swore the last time not to use SLS again as it was just too much hard work! I genuinely believe in giving people a second chance and it really was worth it. Top work from a top team! Will be going back.

Remember though guys - don't take too much on. Keep managing the diary. Knock people back a day or two if you can... And don't over wash cars not used to being washed!! ;)

With an impending Walshy day on Friday, Frolic a month or so away, my 135R needed some TLC....

I'll be honest Falkland Performance is closer and has always had a good write up, MMC seems to have had a stellar year, and up until a month or so ago (this thread!) there would have been little chance of me taking my car anywhere near SLS, due to previous posts about lack of invoices and delays, it never filled me with any confidence. However, on the back of this thread alone, speaking with Ed and ultimately making that call to SLS last week and speaking with Mark, has totally changed my mind....

First impressions first....

*Phone was answered straight away
*Mark took my details straight away (probably logging on computer system/database)
*Listened to my rant about work/lack of time/the shed/what i thought was required v's what is probably needed!
*Gave me his personal mobile number should i need it
*Booked me in and explained what would be done in the service and the cost.
*Asked if i thought there was anything else that should be investigated (nice touch!)
*rather less nervously now, we went over the date and time that he expected me..

Now, with the rant of work over, i then got a call moving my Edinburgh meeting to Dundee, so screwing up my plans. I had to cancel the service 24 hours before, and felt really bad. I called Mark, explained, apologised for messing them around and potentially losing a booking. Mark again was absolutely fantastic reassuring me that sh*t happens and quite frankly i am sure he didn't have to listen to me rant about my love of the job! When would suit me best to book it in again, asked Mark.

Long story short, meeting got rearranged to be back in EDI, called Mark at 6.45pm, asked if my booking might still be doable for the next day and he confirmed that they would still be able to squeeze it in. I jumped in the car and headed for EDI and after a quick chat, Mark agreed to help me out by meeting me somewhere close to where i was staying at, and where he lives. He also lent me his McLaren SLR so i could get to my early morning meeting, so they could crack on first thing, and have the car back to me by lunch time so i could drive down to London today.

Arrived at SLS at 11am, car nearly done, given a clear description of all the work done, and all the work needing done(!) before FF, and actually really enjoyed seeing Ally happily working away, bit of banter, Mark getting involved but at the same time making sure everything was efficiently processed for my prompt departure.

Again, if the above waffle is not making it clear..... SLS is a very changed company, a genuine delight to deal with, and as long as time management is kept in order, then they will do very well for themselves and I wish them all the best. I'll definitely be happy to recommend Mark and Ally and make sure all my Lotus servicing/work goes their way.

Cheers,

Dave

Another thumbs up for Mark and Ali.

Car was dropped off this morning for service and MOT. Had a wee chat with Mark before my lift arrived. Nice bloke and very car keen!

Came back at 4 to pick car up. Met Ali who was just finishing off replacing the coolant. Also nice chappy!!

Passed MOT after a few headlight tweaks (no longer pointing at moon).

Cost very reasonable and will defo use again next year if I still have the Liz and they still maintain the good rep they have.

:cheers ,
Mike

Another happy customer!

Car was in for a C service yesterday and an MOT the other month, dropped the car off, and Mark gave me a lift to the bus stop, had lazy, sunny day in Edinburgh while the car was done. :D
