happy birthday Neil, it was Lisa's birthday on 24th as it happens, she was 30 (again) too ;-)

Celebrated by going camping near Forest of Ae and tearing up some MTB trails there with the kids. Think she is trying to be back in her 20s actually!

You didn't get run over by the rally cars then? First time I had been at Ae, 7Stanes, looks like some decent tracks, I'll have to get down with the bike some time. 8)

The irony was crucifying me...we turned up on the Saturday raring to go...seeing increasing numbers of muddy rallly cars en route and thinking "wow, maybe we can find out where the rally is and take the kids tomorrow"...to find all trails closed, but probably too late in the day to go and catch a Special Stage :-(

So we made up for it by heading to Mabie Forest instead, and shredded a Green there :damnfunny ...then cleared up the unfinished business with Ae on the Sunday before heading home. And a Blue, this time, to boot! Truly magnificent weekend, Baby Firsts all over the shop, but I will stop the thread hijack there cos Neil gets a rash when you start getting excited about kids ;-)

Suffice to say ALL the 7Stanes circuits are a hidden gem provided FREE by our glorious public sector and I'd commend anyone to go and try them out with their bike, whatever your level of ability. In most cases there truly is something for everyone. We've only got Dalbeattie and Glen Trool left to "tick off" now...
