Are these legal... MOT next month..

Post by Victor Meldrew » Fri Aug 25, 2006 6:28 am

I have the MOT next month and need a new front number plate.. surprise surprise.

I spied these on Fleebay..

Thinking about getting a set and taking off the disposable front mount.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

Not on a post1973 car there not (i'm sure i've read) but no-one seems to care, i ran about in a mini for ages with a non-reflective DIY job on the bonnet and it passed.

Could you not get one, then put it on after the MOT, so you at least get a years use out of it? I have had "illegal" plates on my car and last few cars (they are motorbike sized font) and no MOT problems. I only think you would have a problem if they were neddy italic script font or something.

You do get reflective stick on's that are completely legal... Kite marked etc. Mines been through an MOT without a comment. Only cost £15 from a local sign maker...
