Your question is probably rhetorical, but just in case anyone really did wonder...

Cost or availability, I would say.

KH have a fairly busy programme of weekend spectator stuff, and whilst private trackdays do run at weekend, they are the most expensive because they are taking commercially lucrative slots.

Taking a midweek / Friday slot is much better VFM as the track is otherwise idle and KH can thus afford to let it at "bargain" (!) rates.

Campbells answered pretty accurately here. KH is a working racetrack, so they have to ensure that their weekends are earning them the most possible coin, way in advance. Best will in the world, a 2 hr charity trackday doesn't fill that slot. It's actually remarkable we've always managed to get a Friday afternoon, but weekends won't happen I'm afraid.

Tut Towers was the same, always on a Friday 1300-1700, and as I used to get first choice when the years program came out apart for their official events, it gave me a choice of dates.

I was on the Highland Hoon last weekend, and one of the cars that impressed me most was a Fiat Abarth driven by a very capable driver who was driving balls out to stay with us.

Funny weekend Campbell. Drove all the way up to Durness with the other 38 cars from the Highland Hoon, should have been camping but Ian had taken my gear so booked into the BackPackers Hostel.

However my broken finger swelled up and went into melt down, phoned my doc who is a friend, who said come back and get it checked out. Said good bye and headed South via Tongue, torrential rain and aquaplaning but had a good drive back, but the rear tyres were bald so really had to concentrate, however just North of Methlick and 15 hours in the seat I lost concentration and spun through 360, nearly got away with it, but rather like Newcastle went nose down into the left hand ditch and took out the fence post. This time however the tow hook took the force and there was not a mark on the car, so just backed out.

800 miles and the worst conditions that I have ever driven in including the drive back from Spa, without the years and miles under the belt it would have been a different outcome. Despite that though, still got out at TT with a big smile. Never ceases to amaze me what the little bugger is capable of.

Hm.

Well I'm glad you got back safely. Just. Better than a lowloader I suppose.

But you really need to stop that habit of running on crap tyres!

I'll bet that fence post woke you up...

You've got a place mate, but I do need you to follow the instructions in the first post and email me at shug@amp3.co.uk now - you should really have checked via that email first in case we'd sold out. I do need an email from you so that I can send out the info pack closer to the time :thumbsup

Please note guys, demand has been awesome - I just need you to email me first before donating as if there isn't a place left and you donate, there's no way of me refunding the money!

Also, if there's anyone that's got a place by PMing me, can you back up that PM with an email to shug@amp3.co.uk please - I need the email addresses to send you info, that's why I asked you to contact by email in the first place!

Awesome effort so far guys and gals - we're way ahead of where we were last year at this stage, which I can only take as a good omen for the total - but lets not get complacent, it's a great cause and we need to make as much for it as we possibly can!
