That sounds close to the figure I paid to add Europe cover for Spa last year, although mine was only for about 4-5 days.

Not sure how this compares to other providers' charges, but there is an ADAC horror story elsewhere on here (!) and the costs of recovery, repatriation etc can be considerable. So given the abuse the cars are going to get, I'd say it's not worth getting hung up on...just buy some :-)
