FRENCH FROLIC 10 - 21/8 to 28/8

I'm just thinking about the little things that I need to organise - fluro jacket, triangle and GB sticker are easy enough.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do for the spare bulb kit that you're supposed to have for France?

Anything else I need to remember?

i just bought a bulb kit from halfords about 5 years ago, not sure what car its for but i think the police will be more interested in my speeding fine then if my bulbs fit my car or not.

I bought a bulb kit from Tesco - no idea what is in it

. I got pulled twice on last year's FF and the nice men never asked to see jeckets, triangles, bulbs etc. They did want to see €90 in cash though

. The second lot were local bobbies and were content to let me off as I had just been done (5 mins beforehand). They again didn't bother with any checks.

I would still advise to have it all, particularly the triangle and hi-viz vest as to me it makes sense to carry them, even at home.

I'm affraid I have bowed out of this year's Frolic but hope you all have a blast. It will be worth it for Ledenon alone.

I have been fortunate to never need breakdown assistance, but after the service RobbieM received a couple of years ago from the AA I simply wouldn't go past them.

Please make sure to take enough cash with you for the 'variable peage tax'. It saves you being escorted to a local cash machine.

Exceeding 30km/h over the limit (and being caught), will probably mean not allowed to drive any further as they take your license. Not sure if the AA covers bringing home the vehicle in that case too.

thought I'd warn you guys...

2 hours into last Nov's Spa adventure and I had my hi-viz out already

Was about to reach for the triangle too when we decided that lowering Tut's hypothermia risk was of more importance. And in any case his car was parked neatly fully off the road. Fully in the ditch. Happy days!

Plenty of time for that Greg, the day before you go surely is plenty of time.

I have AA annual european cover (had it for at least 5 years) which seems to cost about £100 a year and that is with member discount too.

Worth every penny if you need it. My mate broke down about an hour from Ijmuiden and sisn't have cover. Called the AA and they organised it for something like 80 Euro's at the time and we didn't have that far to go. Worth every penny if you need it.

Breakdown cover for the Pikeys...

Eurorescue £37 to cover 21 to 28 Aug. or £90 for the year.

Gives you everything you need.

Dont fancy the chances of anyone else getting the Rangie and Racepod back, and Rolfe cant push it that far

I see Paul has emailed final instructions..... anyone else staying at the hotel he's suggesting on the saturday night and getting the ferry home on the sunday?!?

Getting Amsterdam ferry back home on the Saturday night, so no, I won't be using that hotel.
