It's um... interesting to drive. Feels a bit wierd. I've only tootled about a little bit in it so far. Need to do a few tweaks with the map and then get some gentle miles on it. Gonna make sure it's well run in before I take it to the dyno to map it.

Performance wise for the 1600, not sure exactly it will put out but I'm certainly hoping for 180bhp plus. Limiting it to 8000rpm as I'm using the standard rods. Wouldn't want to go beyond 8k really.

If it makes anywhere near 190bhp I'll be over the moon.

You need to paint or dye that tow strap so it looks like it's Tongue hanging out!

This is, of course, to represent Father TUT and his facial expression when giving young ladies pax rides at knockhill!

I watched a number of BTCC events in the season (or two?) that the Motorsport Elise ran alongside as a support race. £50k for a year's racing fully supported by Lotus, IIRC. Cars looked utterly awesome, sounded even moreso, and one would have thought they'd be a great way to launch and sell the Exige. Sadly the Exige didn't shift well initially, and the series was binned fairly quickly, but all in all still a good chapter in Lotus history and of course if you'd bought a tidy Exige S1 and kept it clean, you'd be a happy bunny today :-)

Great work Dan, you should price this up as a conversion as I'm sure it would interest a lot of people with track S1s.
