The Mini was a hoot year before last, std Cooper with Coop S wheels and run flats. When is was coming down thick and fast I filled the car with staff who claimed they could not get to work. Was last car up the M90 to Dundee too few issues and enjoyed some hero drifts out of the car park each night.
Bought and "lost" a full set of steel wheels and M+S tyres when I moved house
Campbell PM the
shOctavias tyre sizes.

195/55-16 | 24.44in (620.9mm) I think ( copied from mini site) We looked at buying a second set of alloys, probably doable for around £100 for 15" wheels ( official one) if you shop hard enough.

Two seperate pairs of 16" for mini, would cost about £190 by the time you've got them delivered and fitted. 5mm all round though.
I really am a pikey ebay shopper!

LOL Sanjoy, you work fast!
Octy is on 225/45 R 17s as summer tyres. Skoda recommend 16" rim, with daft 6J width, for winter tyres...officially. Which makes things awkward. However Stevoraith (I think?) got some nice 17s organised I believe. So I suppose something like a 205/50 or even 195/55 in a 17 might work, although for the 195 I might need to find 6.5J rims (think ours are 7J). Bit of a minefield and would also involve selling the Elise spare rims to fund (I am told, by the Finance Director...)

Careful on these as the early MINI's (R50/R53 etc.) are M12 whereas later R56 etc are M14 wheel bolts...

Picked up 2 rear Conti's the other day in the correct size for the BMW with 5mm for £70
Fronts will be much easier to find.

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).

Negative already have a set, was tempted to grab them as spares though, do not think they sold so cheeky offer would probably secure them.

What are the opinions on winter retreads? Seems very common in Europe and would seem an economical way of getting full tread depth. Obviously wouldn't consider fitting to anything performance based but given all are rated well above nsl and British standard/eu standard may seem like a viable option?

Had 4 of these fitted the other day to my A4 Avant as my rears were shot and to be fair the fronts weren't too clever. Noticing a big improvement already in grip especially with this wet weather we are having. If the forecast early snow is correct then money well spent

Need to get my house in order, anyone suggest a cheap tyre fitter in Fife / Lothian as have 8 tyres to fit, hope all the tyres and wheels fit in the barge.
