Watch lovers?

It does appear to be more fashion than functio Jen?
I think a more traditional watch such as a (used) Rolex or a CartierTank Francaise would be a far better way to spend your money
The current Mrs Boag alternates hers when in business mode and wears the Diamond Omega for the occasional bling nights

I guess, but it's the only ladies one Iv seen that I like the look of! It took me 6 months to choose my cheap everyday watch cos I'm really picky!!! I don't like the squareness of the Cartier Tank Francaise, although the Americane is more rectangular. Square watches look weird on my chubby wrists! The only Cartier I like the look of is this:


The J12, has too much going on in the face for my liking, and I really dislike those straps!!

Not a fan of any of the current ladies Rolex's. Will have a look at the omegas just now though!

My other half has that Cartier Roadster (minus the chronos) and it is a beautiful watch, easily the most complimented watch out the lot that she wears regularly, even the Panerai. They come with a weird rubbery fabric strap but its unused, the bracelet is much nicer.

Quick Q for Mr Boag et al...

Is it only certain models of Seiko Monster that considered to be 'grail'? They don't seem hard to come by new, so I'm guessing there's something I'm missing...

Any variant of the monster is considered a grail watch as a result of what you get in terms of quality for little money.The attention to detail on the case/bezel coupled with the amount Seiko allegedly spent on developing the 7S26 movement underpins this. Depending on what forum or theories you subscribe to, Seiko are losing a huge chunk of money in each watch that they sell with this movement. In terms of rarity, the Seiko Red Monster commands a premium over the others. For me ? Black Face with Bracelet every time.

Hello chaps! Update:

The roadster pic I posted before with the chrono, only comes in large which I think is the men's version and would be too big for me anyway. I still like it though so for a dress watch in stainless I would like the Cartier Roadster (small):


I already have a Raymond Weil something or other in gold with diamonds on the face and use that as my gold dress watch. It was a 21st birthday pressie from Alan and Im really happy with it.

As a casual watch I'd like something similar to the Tag Carrera so that's why I like the Tag formula one. I like the chunkyness of it and would get a men's Carerra but it's far, far, far too big! (I tried on Alans!) So I came up with these as alternatives; an Omega Seamaster or Omega Speedmaster, with either white croc or stainless strap, pictures below:


Thoughts? Any suggestions on alternatives?

Haven't compared the Cartier and omega prices but the diamond set omega seamaster is twice the price of a plain one so the diamonds can't be fake!!

I don't like the plain bezel.

Edit: just checked the price for the cartier, it's in between the two.

Not into watches, but I receive mails from SecretSales, and they were doing Lacroix and Porsche watches. RRP does not mean much, but googled on a couple of chronograph models going at £1,200(£4.3K) and £3,800(£11.5K) and they were well over twice that price at the lowest on googling.
