how does the coolant sensor cause the idle speed to vary?

it adds more fuel in default than the correct reading would, It then fouls the plugs which alters the engine speed, when the plugs clean up at higher revs the circle of events begin again.

Typical .Was supposed to pick up car today but no parts to fix it.Wont get it back until Monday afternoon :x . Cant believe it takes that long to get a coolant sensor and spark plugs.

Let me know how the car runs once you have it back, mine's nbeen ok recently but sounds lie the coolant sensor could be worth a look at?

Car .......back :D . All the thingy bits covered by warranty :wink: .But £58 for 4 spark plugs :shock: . Well looks like out for a wee run the night.

Give them the spark plugs back, ask for your old ones. There was obviously nothing wrong with the old ones, because fitting the new ones made it no better :-)

Lowest common denomenator is that MMC are sh*t with cars.

They cannot diagnose problems, they take too long, they sh*t you on the phone and they break the fcuk thing before giving it back (see my previous posts).

Just why do none of us want to post our experience in the meets section :?: :?:

As I said before - if we have no intention of taking action, why complain on this forum?

It is the same story, time after time...............
