I'm back in Scotland for the week visiting the folks after a 4 month detachment in Northern Italy (beats Afghanistan everytime).
Fortunately I was able to self-drive and I managed some day visits; and I took a week to come home via the scenic route:
Did a day trip around Lake Garda, including the tunnels on the west bank:

Visited the Ferrari Museum:

Drove a 458 Italia in Maranello:

Then visited the Lamborghini factory and museum:

And drove a Gallardo Superleggera:

Also did the Pagani factory tour:

Went to the Monza Grand Prix (there's a couple of Team Lotus cars in there somewhere):

Came home via Monaco; drove around most of the circuit (the tunnel and harbour road were shut for the international yacht show):

Overnighted at Lake Como:

Then did the Stelvio pass (both ways), overnighting in Davos:

Then Stuttgart for the Porsche and Mercedes Museums:

Then the Frankfurt motor show; the new Exige looks interesting, you can actually see out of the glass rear window!

Finally had a look at the Nurburgring and Spa circuits, but both were closed for private events ... next time.
Only spotted a 3 other Lotus in 4 months, including a nice British Racing Green S2 Exige in Monaco parked at the helipad.
Overall an amazing experience, the car was impeccable throughout and got alot of attention, even in Maranello.
Now back in sunny Scotland.
