Sounds fairly similar to what I do then, except you have things actually fall from the sky and I shout (discuss) with our own people.
On the window view thing, I mostly look out at the PIK tower, yet to spot Mrs Pete at work though

to be fair it's usually the engineers that cause the problems, the aircrew are just on the exciting end when something lets go...

Interesting, in the eighties I was lucky enough to spend some time at Farnborough with the AIB. I remember being sneaked in to a hanger that had an F3 Tornado being pieced together after being dug out of a deep hole following a engine fire. If I remember correctly it was an oil fire that wasn’t contained. The guys working on it were intrigued by the amount of titanium used in the wing hinges. Fascinating stuff - would have loved to make a career out of it – envy your job.

The one on my Elise exhaust has always been fine.
No issues with them, except one we slave for testing in the cell that let go.

I'm flying on G-RJXJ on Thursday / Friday - look after her extra specially for me

It'll be G-RJXL this week, assuming you're flying from ABZ, XJ is based in EMA at the moment but is due up at the weekend for an engine change.
I'll do my best

Dig holes in the ground to find the black gold!
Nice piece of kit Mike, I'd be interested to know how well all the NOV kit works out- we've got something similar coming in 2013 although it's on a Jack-up.
