Target for Christmas was to be under 14 stone however have managed to lose 1 stone 1 pound in four weeks down to 13 stone 4 pounds. Quite surprised because 3 weeks ago I fell off my mountain bike at carron valley breaking a few ribs suffering a wee bit of concussion and removing a significant amount of of skin so quite pleased. I may be the only person in Scotland to lose weight over the festive period.

Also try not to break ribs. Really hurts.
this is top news kenny....i did hear about your little accident from dom!a while ago....nasty, hope your on the mend.

i blame dom, for probably leading you a stray and trying some crazy stunt, no doubt  .....

No it's still Dom's fault. Had he been in front of me slowing me up it wouldn't have happened.

First run of 2012 completed at lunch time... I was on fire - well at least my lungs were! Too many Christmas Malboro lights I'd guess.

Brilliant app if anyone is interested, TargetWeight, good as a reminder where you were and what you have achieved. Although i noticed these. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Withings-Wifi-B ... 170&sr=8-1 which look awesome! I lost over a stone between Jan 2011 and August 2011, lots of exercise and eating what i wanted. July and August came whereby two weeks in Italy and FF saw me between then and December more or less put it all back on. I did pretty much nothing due to work commitments exercise wise, and seemed to be constantly out with clients and drinking and eating well, albeit not healthy.

This year, I am going to do as much exercise, altering between cycling and running, with small weights sessions and more press ups and sit ups. Drink a lot less and more importantly when i am out, try and choose the healthier option rather than whatever looks the most delicious!

Anyway, all definitely easier to achieve and stick to your goals if you are happy with everything else in your life (work/home life) otherwise you simply find excuses not to bother. A lot of it is just PMA!

Dave

P.S Well done Kenny!

Actually, and I fully admit my memory is somewhat hazy, Dom seemed rather concerned for my well being. When he eventually rocked up.

Things get even hazier after that but I know for a fact that the drive to the hospital will be the greatest mpg and the slowest average pace Dom has ever done. :D

Ps. Dave, cheers, keep up the good work.
Pps quit the Marlboros !!

I have just bought a set of the Wthings scales and LOVE them........nothing better than seeing the graph change daily and even though you'll fluctuate naturally you see the trend. I have seen my body fat drop daily since 1st Jan using these. I was tempted to buy them for over 9 months
and went for it after hearing a colleague raving about them.

I now challenge myself to make the curve bend down every day which pushes me to get out and run or cycle

http://fitatforty.com/2010/05/product-r ... led-scale/

Agree with the others that you have to make it a habit to exercise.

Good luck and keep us posted with progress dude

Headwind on the way out, plus 1000ft ascent, but the favour was returned on the way home :thumbsup

As one of my cycling partners said to me "you need to take 2 kilos of the waist and put it on the legs" :damnfunny

agree about those scales - my mate got a set and he's been tracking himself and his family with them all of last year. He's now 2 stone down!

Bought one of the garmin gps watches to log my running - was out running up the strip in Vegas this morning at 7am - the joys of jetlag!

CAn also use it for cycling so hoping that this and the fact the garmin uploads everything will challenge me in to running consistently again - gym has been fine - but havent really noticed too much of a change.

Good luck to everyone for 2012 and their fitness campaigns!
