British GP 2012 Advise Please
British GP 2012 Advise Please
It's my sisters 50th this year, and she has expressed an interest in going to the Brittish GP.
Q1. I am I to late?
Q2. If not, does anyone have recommendations of who to book with?
(preferably a package. Tickets, Hotel, Transport)
Thank you for any input.

A2) Never done the British F1 but I have always used these people for my F1 tickets: Book F1 http://www.bookf1.com/. They (like most) do hospitality packages. I have never been dissapointed with the seats that they have given me either which is a bonus

Check the Silverstone site itself - they seem to have 'pods' that you can stay in on-site - just glanced at it the other day so no idea what it costs ( probably a lot!).
Motor Racing International do packages that include pick -up from various points across the country too.

Why not book a hotel on outskirts and get a helicopter in and out for something special? My friend done this for race day. She missed all traffic which looked horrendous
Chris,
A lot of people who were camping brought their mountain bikes for getting around. Id probably do that if i wasnt in the elise. I was in one of the outside camp sites which I was glad of in one way.. I managed to get sleep and there was no sign of trouble ( regular patrols took care of this)
What ticket did you get?
Stay Sunday night if you can. They put on a post race concert with drivers etc on stage.
Keith, I remember looking at those pods on the website after seeing them there and then spat out my breakfast when I seen the cost! Can't remember off top of my head what cost

Is anyone on here definately going to Silverstone this year?
So far have got myself and at least 3 others (not on here) to give a definate yes, but it might be a case of the more the merrier
Will be booking up race tickets (Becketts)(Book F1) and campsite etc this weekend.
Looks like we will be going down the Thursday and back the Monday. Taking the camping route, but going for the pre errected jobbies with all creature comforts
and a fry up each morning
.
Anyone on here got any experience of this approach and if so what are the do's and dont's re camping. Experience of different campsites would also be a bonus...

I'm going to wait until closer the time. I can't get any of my mates interested and it's not the wife's thing
Last year I stayed in hamiltonfields campsite which was pretty good. Facilities were great and my pitch was away from any of the noise, but also had the choice of having a few tins with some guys in the noisy part of the site next to the bar and entertainment tent.
Toilets were kept clean an showers were top notch.
It was patrolled every hour by the site security and the local rozzers used it as a base to stuff their fat faces.
Only gripe is the distance to the track, but lots of people had their bikes, which would have made it perfect.
There was a thread I looked at last year on here where Karen and Derek had their tent broken into in the middle of the night, while they were sleeping... Do a search...

i didnt camp - i stayed at a hotel all inclusive. this was years ago mind - 2004 maybe.
i found no trouble getting in or out either - driving in and out and was less held up than a morning communte.
i must have been lucky!!
i was on my own, so maybe i just went in early/out late - i certainly was taking full advantage of the 3 day ticket

Been to Barcelona and we stayed in a fantastic place just outside the city. Probably a slight drive to the circuit but let me know if you want detailsBiggestNizzy wrote:I am off to Barcalona this year, hopefully the weather will be better.
