I have an LED out on each rear light. Has anyone stripped down 1 of these units to repair them?
If not I'll give it a go tomorrow and see how I get on.
I'm guessing.....hoping it's just a dry solder joint.

I am sure Robin has posted in the past about this. A wee search might bring up some info. It runs in my mind that it wasn't possible or very difficult but would be happy to be proven wrong
Just had a search and found a thread from 2007! Looks like the only bit of info I got right above was that it was indeed Robin who responded about a repair

Hi,
Whilst I could repair it there wasn't an easy way to dismantle it without a hacksaw (and thus not practical to reassemble
). Also the LEDs in these clusters aren't easy to source as there are no identifying marks on them.
Bottom line, ignore it until either it becomes an MOT fail or you're selling the car and decide to replace it to make it pristine.
I would ask Craig at MMC what his experience is of your particular model year's rear LED clusters - it may be that they are more serviceable than the original items.
I hate LED lights - what was so wrong with a bulb!.
Cheers,
Robin

Thanks for the reply. One of my pet hates is LEDs that are out. Guess I'll have to look into replacing the full light and maybe vulcanise 1 of the old lamps for spare LEDs.
