i'd rather not. As robin posted before, we have all posted something we're not proud of. I'mnot saying it wasnt true btw, just that i shouldnt have said it where you couldnt reply. I kinda wishwe had decided to delete it a year ago, but it was left there for a kind of, nothing to hide. as it seems gareth is a childish blabbermouth, i deleted the thread. like i said, if you want to speak about it, i'll give you a call

What a lot of nonsense ... back on topic ...

I'm afraid I still don't get this.

I've reread the original post and it doesn't ask "the question" about how you could tell the status of an ambulance.

This was only asked in subsequent replies ... but regardless, I still think it's a pointless query.

The original post was nothing more than an ill considered moan.

What really got my goat last night though was my inference that anyone could believe that an ambulance crew might be inside a property and not be doing very much.

When I see an ambulance or fire & rescue vehicle, I assume that their business is more important than mine. There can be no exception.

Traffic "piling up"? ... irrelevant.

Perhaps if the original post had contained more fact and less hyperbole, I might not have reacted.

Anyway, I think I've made my position clear and want nothing to do with the general acrimony this topic appears to have descended in to.

Bygones. :)

Cheers,

Eric :)

Lets just put all our cards on the table.

I don't think I've ever directed personel abuse at anyone. It's not my style.
Granted what was posted about me, Lowell and someone else was over a year ago...it was hardly a smart thing to do.
I have zero problem someone thinking I'm a cnut...but take a hold...see if you've got balls and call me one to my face. Not stick it online where I'd never see it and have the chance to respond.

As for you Ape...we've always had a joke on SE or MSN about you being a hero track God.
The fact of the matter is, I do think you have some raw talent and what you posted about me came as quite a surprise.
I've never had a problem with you.

Shug on the otherhand has always been full of sh*t.
I've only met the guy a handful of times. I don't actually think we've had a proper conversation so how the fcuk he can judge me is another thing.
So I've said some stuff on here to wind him up. Big deal. Never done anything to personally offend him or anyone else. The only thing that's ever pissed me off is the whole AMP 3 / kissing Andy's arse in the process. I get he's the boss but this place is about cars...not Taiwan ipods.....Andy..I'm joking.

Eh, no...I'm not.
Straight cut and paste.

When I questioned it on SEbikers I was told not to be offended as it was pub talk.
Not sure being called a retard is pub talk.

Now children, once upon a time, in a land far far away, a long long time ago....

"Now I would have thought that:
(a) if they were attending an emergency they would leave the blue lights on (if only to make sure they didn't get blocked in by traffic!).
(b) if they were attending an emergency they would have ignored her and the door bell.
(c) if they were not attending an emergency they could have parked their ambulance in a parking space rather than blocking the whole road."

a) only if they needed to alert others to the hazard of their vehicle
b) they usually answer the door if they have requested assistance from other services etc
c) there night not have been a parking space available when they arrived

Though entertaining, your petty differences in opinion and attitude might be better dealt with offline perhaps chums?

Okay Gareth, this has to be addressed, so yes, cards on table.

No, I've not liked your online persona from the beginning - no you don't directly attack people, you poke fun by association and snide remark. It's been a cornerstone of your posting style from the beginning, even back on the Yahoo group format and it pushes my buttons. Winding people up isn't something I like as a rule. Your memory clearly differs from mine when it comes to things done for personal offence. Hence my frustration at you, which unfortunately came out on that private small group.

Now, as for face-to-face, I come from a school where you don't just walk up to guys and tell them you don't like them without reason. You avoid pointless confrontation for the good of the wider group. That's why we've never had many conversations. I'm sure also that lots of unsavoury things have been said about me where I can't hear or respond to them - similarly, I don't care. My mistake (and the apology I will make to you) is to have posted it somewhere online and not just kept it to a pressure-release conversation with someone over a pint. That was wrong and I apologise. As for the language used, I'd say that was pure pub talk. Again, though, for posting online, no matter how private that was (and it was something like 5 guys total at the time) I apologise and it was a very bad call.

What you also fail to mention is despite the general distaste for your online persona that you dredged up from the annals of history on that forum, you received two pages of in-depth, honest advice when you asked about your first bike from me and several others including McKean. Given freely and without any hesitation whatsoever. Of course, posting that doesn't help your cause though, does it?

Overall though - I will happily consider my position here if the wider posting populace considers it appropriate, given this. That doesn't mean I'll take a dramatic leave, I will just renounce the moderator status, offload the domain registry to someone else who's prepared to take it and contribute purely on a member basis going forward. I do take this issue that seriously - it was a major f**k up on my part.

That's the last thing I'll post here on the matter. Purely for the information of the wider membership, who's advice I will now consider as to whether it's appropriate that I continue moderating on here. Happy to do so, happy to learn and move on, but similarly if it's felt I should step back, I will.

Well Shug,

No one ever said you or anyone had to like me. I really don't have a problem if you don't.
If you're going to be man enough (and it seems you have found some balls) and apologise I can only do the Gentleman thing and accept.

If we're done now...where's the big brush and carpet that Scotty was on about?

Mikey I'll happily pm you my mobile number if you wish to talk further offline. Otherwise this is going nowhere fast so may as well call it a day on our own little feud. I apologise for my initial response, I was just offended at how you had spoken to Robin and did not see you making any attempt at rectifying your mistake. I don't withdraw my PM, my comments stand on that. Put this under Scotty's carpet as well.

Fcuk off Shug, you are not getting out of Moderating that easily. I don't know what the biking incident was about and not interested, it is not my Forum whereas this one is, and I do not want to see it abused. We are not going to take a poll, but I think that most would agree that it has nothing to do with you being a Moderator, if anybody would like to troll through your posts they will see that you have often opted out if you had a conflict of interests between member/Moderator. Apart from that you are the only one with a post count between 8K and 15K which would make it look as if I do not have a life. :D

One of the Forum's rules is "no personal abuse allowed", and there is no place or reason for it. Calling someone a fat twat in jest is fine, but not some of what has been going on here. I told mikey what I thought of his post, but I made it clear without personal insults.

Arguments, opinions, discussions, jokes, are all part of this Forum along with the car side, and it would be boring without them, but cut out the personal insults/abuse, if you feel that strongly then take it off line with the person concerned, the rest of us are not interested in reading it and it ending up with bad feeling as has happened in this case.

As above, anyone who writes on this board has to adhere to the boards rules. Please bear these in mind.

Stuff that gets written elsewhere is not relevant regardless of who/where it is posted etc.

Lets all please take a deep breath and chillax?! :thumbsup

Apology accepted. Will pm Robin right now and do the same.
Tut was never talking about you thats crossed wires I think?
I take it the pm your standing by Ian is the one were you called me a tit?
Im not the tit that chucks stuff out of his car at trackdays, Im also not the tit that wrote off his Honda Elise on an empty road or the tit that got his head kicked in thinking he could take on the world. But to be fair they all sound like the kind of stupid thing Id do.
Happy to draw a line now. I was going to totally go in the huff and take my name off the Spring camping. Hopefully you come along we will share a beer and realise we are both a pair of idiots :cheers
