I have the rear panel removed on the Exige with the exhaust exposed
The heat shield on the left around the U bend is on the way out
Any recommended options to replace this?
Looked at heat wrap but some of the reviews are mixed
Cheers

Exhaust Heat Shield
Re: Exhaust Heat Shield
Replaced the heat shield on the Europa when i got the paint job done as it was totally rusted and falling apart. I had it replaced with with heat wrap not long ago and coated it with 2000 degree rating hi- heat coating.
Stuff I used was:
Thermo Tec Exhaust Wrap - Graphite Black
Thermo Tec Hi-Heat Coating spray - Black

Re: Exhaust Heat Shield
You could just leave it bare, shouldn't cause any problems when you have the rear panels removed.

What did you end up doing? I'm just in the process of removing the rear panel and the U-bend heat shields shot too. Ali's suggestion to just leave it off appeals but I dont want to risk melting anything - the cable from the post cat lambda sensor looks a prime candidate for that!

Re: Exhaust Heat Shield
hi,
i removed my u turn heat shield also, because it was rattling
...... left it bare for a while and checked now and again to see if it caused a problem.....only thing i found was it did warm the wheel inside rim and tire a bit more and the surrounding area but didn’t seem a real problem driving around.....on track who knows, suck it and see, me thinks.......in the end i got some white heat wrap and tie's, to be sure....quick job and little expense for peace of mind IMHO..
P.S on refection white heat wrap was possibly a bad idea and get grey or black would of been better....but, you live and learn
hope this helps!
