Not a good week.

Post by tut » Thu Mar 15, 2012 7:31 pm

I was not going to post on this, but it has come out on Facebook and I have had a couple of pm's asking me what happened.

Ian and Luke went down to Newcastle on Friday with a couple of friends to watch a football match, but on Saturday night when they were walking back to their Hotel, they went through an underpass, a gang of ten were walking towards them, and when alongside they laid into them. Luke got battered but not too badly, the other two got away, but they concentrated on Ian who was badly beaten up. The police were there fairly quickly, but Ian was unconscious and bleeding on the ground, so went off by ambulance to hospital.

He is back in Aberdeen now, but has a cracked skull with two holes in his head, looks like a broken jaw, face swollen, his ear is mangled, and his arms, body and hands were kicked and stamped on. Most serious though was blood and fluid leaking onto his brain and oozing out of his ear. He has been in for five days now but is off the danger list, latest was a blood clot on the brain, but that is expected to clear in a couple of days.

The police have put a team onto the investigation, Aberdeen were brilliant, Newcastle were pathetic, let them run off whilst they were attending to Ian, so neither got names or pulled any of them. As it is being treated as attempted murder, the Northumbrian PF have taken over and are going through the CCTV tapes, and have taken Ian's and Luke's clothes in for DNA testing.

They did do one thing wrong because they will not take dad's advice, which was to turn around and leg before they took any chances. Their Scottish accents probably did not help either.

Got to agree with your advice Tut. The first steps in self defence, bloody great ones in the opposite direction!!!

Sorry to hear about the lads, especially Ian. Thoughts are with you all and hope they make a speedy recovery.

Hope the police track down the culprits but knowing British justice they will just be told to sit on the naughty step for five minutes or something else as stupid and worthless.

Never nice to hear of anyone getting a shoe-ing.

Only thing I'll say is in fairness to Newcastle is that a Scottish accent is unlikely to get you into bother - geordies and us get along fine.

Hope you and Verian are holding up Tut, not a nice thing for any parent to have to go through. Best regards to both of you.

Not good to here, after having a word with Iain a couple of weeks ago I thought he was going to have nothing to do with luke and his drunken antics.

Sounds like Iain got the worst of it again.

Don't think the pair of them will ever learn.

Tut that's awful to hear. A really dreadful thing to happen. I hope the boys make a quick recovery and that you and Verian are coping well.

Nothing to do with Luke this time Scotty, he was behind Ian.

They were there to jump anyone who walked past.
