There was nothing in it between my honda'd s2 and the sc Elise despite dozens of laps together. However he was on yoko road tyres and I was on 888's so he was going well! I know I wasnt pushing as hard as I could as I never really had any 'moments' whereas he was sliding about a bit. I just need to put more faith in the 888's and keep the boot in!

Had to finish at 1230 as the rear R1R's had melted and were not legal driving home.

Was hoping to find a cheaper alternative to the 48R's and 888's with 8mm tread, but looks like dream cuckoland. They were going off after eight laps, so did not even have to re-fuel which should not happen in the dry.

Glad you all liked the day, and the weather was much kinder to us than was forecast!

Special mention to Clark for the most "air" of the day:

Though he was bettered by one of the Time Attack drivers on the Sunday!

David wrote:With expectations dampened by a poor weather forecast, this turned out to be a really enjoyable day. Great to catch up with the regulars again.

Gordon got some good sessions and worked his way down to the 61's  , I mangaged a few 59's and Dom had a go and managed a 59 too - quite impressive for a first time in the car 8)

Thanks to John, as always, for a well organised and fun day. :thumbsup :thumbsup

Another great SIDC track day, thanks again John :thumbsup

Please can we have a reverse direction one for later in the year?

Blue 58 plate Elise was certainly having trouble going forwards without exiting into the scenery. First lap out he was just in front of me turning into Clarks and spun

After he'd been off 2/3 times heard Duncan over the PA saying that would be the end of the drivers day!

Tut how was your pax in the Ferrari 430 Scud?

Good fun. Not an ideal track car due to its weight, but still corners well, very smooth, and slightly jealous of the gear change.

Makes a big difference having a set of helmets with communication. Do the instructors use them yet?

Final session:

The rain has starting to fall but grip is good and I get my best time of the day. As the rain gets heavier I start to short shift but have one last push on lap 17 to get a PB for a damp track. Great fun :drive
