S1 for sale SOLD

Post by robin » Fri Sep 08, 2006 6:14 pm

Yes, I am flirting with selling the S1 - here's the advert I put elsewhere ...

I am selling it as part of a vehicle consolidation programme (I need the space) and I would love to see someone race it next year.

I believe this car will classify as class A in the LOT series, where it will be competitive on both power and weigth.

For those that haven't seen the car on track days I have attended it's a silver S1 R reg (99% sure it's a '97 not a '98 but will need to check that when I get a chance - assume '97).

It's a bit tatty in places (clams are not holed or bashed but there are some nicks here and there and some paint came off with a sticker - luckily paint underneath is more-or-less same colour :-)). Some of the interior is a bit tatty too - a rip in the driver's seat shoulder and one of the sill pads. If you're racing it you won't care cos (a) you cannot see any of that and (b) you'll spade it soon enough and get it replaced/resprayed anyway :-)

Here's the good stuff:

I have owned the car for two years ish and replaced just about everything mechanical on it.

These bits are standard parts but have been replaced in the last two years:

All lower ball joints and a couple of the uppers, track rod ends, wheel bearings, wishbone bushes, steering rack and radiator. It has the bigger wheel bearing bolts fitted.

Nitron 1-way adjustables.

The rear toe links are the uni-ball type.

Braided steel brake hoses, pagid RS4-2s and EBC disks.

PTP 165 head, ecu, inlet manifold and ITG air box. It has a close ratio gearbox and a new clutch. There's an oil-water cooler and remote thermostat fitted also.

I have converted the exhaust to an S2-type manifold & associated heat shield and S/S downpipe. It has an Eliseparts high flow cat and a BK S/S box. It's not too noisy for track days so should be OK for racing.

I am looking at 8,000 for the car assuming you want the PTP kit and c/r box - I'll put it back to standard for the right offer and sell the other bits by themselves.

I also have a spare set of wheels, spare standard gearbox, standard head and MEMS for the car, all of which are up for sale, and obviously at favourable price to whoever buys the car!

Cheers,
Robin

Nice uplift in value, which company is it?

Doesn't look like Mears Group - just checked that.

Yes, it's the shed! (well it was, it's sold now I believe)

Protechs will most likely be for sale - I have had Mark sort out the spring lengths so that they don't rattle on full droop - but they aren't going to be cheap as they've now cost me a pretty penny and are totally unused.

Cheers,
Robin

Yes, they are the two way ones. Give me a bell on 07973 391 393 if you're interested and I'll scare you with what they cost and then you can laugh at me and offer me a pony (a.k.a. a spit roast in modern rhyming slang :-)) for them.

Cheers,
Robin
