TT 2012 Not Long Now
Re: TT 2012 Not Long Now
Just like to say thanks to Tut, Mike and Craig for a great weekend.
Had some fantastic drives, special thanks to Gary and Craig for leading some spirited runs. Just heard on reporting Scotland that the Applecross road was now the best driving road in Scotland, can sure agree with that, it was so good we done it Twice.
Thanks again to everyone for a great time.
Cheers

I'd like to add my thanks too. Although I wasn't there for all of it, I really appreciate the amount of effort that Craig, Mike and Tut and their better halves put into making the weekend so enjoyable. I think you had everything covered, even the weather on Saturday!
I may not leave it for another 30 years before I camp again!
Thanks again

Of this I have no doubt. The man drives barefoot FFS. In nature there are clues and warning signs; spikes, bright colours, big teeth. On the road the clues are different but there all the same...barefoot drivers, battered old hunkered down elises...Sanjoy wrote:But you could have dicked him right ?
Would have loved to have found £200k down the back of the sofa, but suffice to say it was a big chunk less than that and huge chunk of finance that's made the dream possible. I can't afford for her to be a pampered princess only coming out in the dry for 50 miles given the second mortgage involved so I fully intend to act the getaway driver throughout my time with hertut wrote:The McLaren MP4-12C that I clued up with yesterday at Applecross, and drove with for the next two hours on his way to Durness.

Great run and needless to say he drove it like he had stole it, on all the single tracks and main roads as well. He could not reach his 205 top speed, so was able to stay with him and enjoy the sight and sound.
He had an RS4 before it, but he was doing his accounts and was surprised to find that he had £200K in his savings account, did not want Italian, loved McLaren's philosophy, so went and bought one.

So good to find other petrolheads out enjoying the roads and backslaps all round to Scottish motorists pulling over on all those single passes to let us by. Nice to meet you all and share in the wonders of Applecross.

Thanks again to Mike, Craig, Tut and their respective partners for the first class organisation and hospitality.
And to all the others for the great company over the weekend - with a special mention to Gary for the lift back to the hotel

Sorry about that Steve, had not realised that you were driving a saloon, and of course not being a geek, an RS6 and a Volvo look the same.
It was actually a complement as you were stuck to my tail the whole way.

Re: TT 2012 Not Long Now
I'll just echo the thanks to Mike, Craig and Tut and everyone else that helped in any way. Putting on even the simplest even takes a lot of effort - never mind something over 3 days.
I'd also like to give a special mention to everyone at Knockhill. I had a few laps with Rory the instructor who was excellent. I try to take advantage of the free instruction whenever it's on offer and he was the best there's been so far. The marshals were superb after I'd done a bit of ploughing. I was expecting dogs abuse for having forgotten to put my towing eye in
but they couldn't have been nicer.
Thanks to everyone for the good company on and off the road.
