Horrible to go through but I'm confident you'll do just fine. Good luck

I have been looking for a switch to the oil and gas industry for a while, unfortunately every advert I have ever looked at has insisted on experience in oil and gas. If I could I would relocate to Aberdeen in a flash, the money in that industry is night and day compared to what I do.neil wrote:Sorry to hear this Kenny. As Craig and Mike have said, the oil industry's very buoyant at the moment. Are you a structural engineer? I'm sure if you fancy a move to Aberdeen you could have something pretty quickly - have a look on oilcareers.com. Contract is definitely the way to go. Let me know if you need any pointers
I'd just ignore that bit and punt your CV in anyway. Oil & gas cant be that different to what you've done previously - the only addition is probably blast loading. Also worth putting it in to the likes of Aker, Amec, and Wood Group. You could also go down the Project Engineer route.kenny wrote:I have been looking for a switch to the oil and gas industry for a while, unfortunately every advert I have ever looked at has insisted on experience in oil and gas.
