Also sorry to hear this Kenny but it sounds like you're well organised for a comeback.
Although all the "come to Aberdeen" stuff sounds a bit like a cult

Redundant

Crap news mate. Happened to me a couple of years back and turned out fine though.

I'm off next week, so if you fancy coming up to Abz there's a spare room here. You're welcome to stay a few days while you get your face around the agencies ASAP. Email and online applications does not work up here, I discovered.

Aberdeen is awesome.

+1 for the ultimate outcome of redundancy being a positive one. Sounds like you've got the skills that are in demand. Good luck with the job hunt. :-)

Sorry to hear, lot's of engineering jobs going at the moment in Aberdeen though. Pretty sure Weatherford just advertised two new Engineer positions but not sure what to do with. If I find out more I'll forward on to you, pm me your email address and I can send it direct through referral of friend.

Kenny, sorry to hear that. I can't begin to think what that must feel like, although it has been a worry for the past few years. Sounds like you have been prudent in recent years and sounds like you have a wealth of experience and are well respected. Hope you find something soon but enjoy a wee break in the meantime.

All the best Kenny, the construction industry is not what it was, hope something positive can come out of it.

Tough break Kenny but sounds like you are pretty employable. Apart from the Jeremy Kyle habit.

Tut could probably use a lodger to fund his halogen heater and viagra habit, and whilst holed up there you are in a good place to check out Aberdeen, the centre of the Scottish economy these days.

Depending on what ties you have, a stint in Aberdeen will do no harm. Whilst I wouldn't quite call it awesome (it's a long way from fecking anywhere other than Stavanger, IMHO), I did OK out of the first 5 years of my career up there and you at least have a ready made NE SE family to welcome you :-)

Actually I kinda miss the place.

All the very best.

Gutted for you mate, but I don't think you'll be out of work for long. If you're interested in Aberdeen, the half the battle is already done. Will be a shame to lose you from the Weej, but will be nice for you to be making some proper money :)
