Andy, are you tempted to try the AD08s as used by Palmer Atoms? Seem to get glowing reviews

Andy, If you do find a better map, I'd be very interested. I have the same issue. The current mapping is buring fuel at a frightening rate. I discovered on my last trip in the atom that MasterCard block your credit card if you use it to buy petrol more than 6 times in a day. I fear it will be too late for next week though - Inverness to Edinburgh to Manchester to Anglesey to London :-)

Jamie, I have just fitted new A048s on the rear. The last set were on the markers by 2000 mile. I have T1Rs as wet weather tyres, which are just hopeless on track, so will be getting replaced with AD08s very soon. Just trying to decide whether to Sorn over winter or not.

If you can't get him on that, get Simon Saunders to design detachable long range tanks for it 8)

If you buy 2 tanks of fuel and trainers in a x hour window Amex do the same, allegedly the first thing that skimmers do in the US when they get your details. Fill their car, buy shoes, then fill their mates car.

Andy you checked for a hole in the tank? :)

Jamie, I am just fitting AD08's on N3 to replace the P6000's. They should be good on the road in the dry and the wet, and hopefully in the wet on track, but how will they go on track in the dry?

At KH I would expect them to start going off after about eight laps.

Andy, my map could well work on your car as an interim measure. It is for a JDM engine, so the same as yours.

Presume that you have a Kpro, so it would be easy enough to try.

Tut, that will be interesting if you get the pressures right you should be able to extend how many laps you can do before they start going off. For a reference point Palmer use 17psi front and 26psi rear (obviously the Atom has even less weight over the front) so maybe something like 20/26 might be a good starting point. I'd imagine the Atom would be getting more slip at the rear and more likely to over heat the rears than N3.
I like the sound of the level of compromise that the AD08s seem to offer.

Cheers Jamie, I used 19/21 with 48R's, so will try 20/26 as a starter with the 8's.

I have them on the S160, and they are very good on the road, from Knockhill to FBill on the friday at TT it was very wet, and the wet very grippy round the kinlochleven loop.

Not sure about on track in the dry, but I would think they wont be to far behind the 048, might find out at Spa....

If you wanted to map it, it would have to be a Kpro as it is the only one with a USB port.

If it is not you could probably borrow one from jacobite as he has one on Craig's old car which has not been rebuilt yet.

Andy, the Atom 3 uses a new type of Hondata ECU, not the K100, and Ariel can not map it themselves, they send it away.
Therefore Corbie would have been no use to you.

"Can I upgrade to a K-Pro at a later date?

Yes, but this is not offered by Hondata. Any upgrades are only through the dealers, and many dealers may choose not to offer this. The upgrade price is determined by the dealer as they will be trading in the k100 board inside your ECU, so discuss it with them first before you purchase the k100. A slot will need to be cut into the ECU for the USB cable to connect to the K-Pro board. The K-Pro board simply takes the place of the k100. This can be easily be done by your dealer, with no soldering involved."

To buy a K-Pro outright is $1600

You are therefore stuck with Ariels map unless you fit a K-Pro.

ps:- check out CPL at http://www.scottishelises.com/phpbb/vie ... 83#p413183 as they will fit a K-Pro 3 board inside your existing ECU for £753. They also have used K-Pro's, so worth giving them a ring.
