Gopro Hero 3 black

I was all set to go and buy a hero2 HD to capture some skiing and just discovered the gopro 3 is about to be launched. It seems to have a few additional features and is smaller, so must be worth waiting for. The black has the highest res 4D? but the silver is also an improvement. anyone looked into this - silver may be good enough.

It's good some pretty neat features that you might find useful . Just waiting for the full launch details and tech spec to come throu to us along with a demo unit. Lots more of the 2 extras inboard the 3.

I've never used one myself but was very impressed with some footage I saw recently. From my very basic reserach they seem to suggest the exposure is considerably better which would be helpful on the snow, but I'm not clear if that is on the Black and the Silver or just the black.

When do you expect to have it for sale?

Quite embarrassing Kerry, but i havent yet got an idea of when we can expect stock. They just announced it yesterday, and our rep is getting the info to me in the next few days.

Just out of interest Andy, do you get yours throu Madison or is there another uk importer? I get mine through Madison but they seem to sell cheaper online than I can do them for.

Madison are the uk disty and that's who we use. There are defo grey import routes though. Latest amazon pricing shoes that.

My son wants a Gopro type camera for his Christmas to take skiing/skate park. The Hero 2 Outdoor edition seems to be the kiddy but are there alternatives or is the best one to get?

Suspect the 3 will have a fair premium on it tbh.

Depends what you want to spend really.

Certainly any of their models will be good for that - you will want one that has the helmet mount options from the sound of it

Couple of hundred quid I guess. The outdoor edition seems to have a helmet mount by the looks of it.

Christ those Black edition stats are proper awesome. Imagine what that would have cost just 5 years ago.

Safe to say that the TV that we currently watch will not be the same in <12 months after Top Gear et al get their hands on these ?

Andy does the wifi allow streaming "live"? Would love a live feed from a kart into the reception area!
