Just got this from Duncan!

"Dear All,

The day is almost upon us, it is an even playing field. It does not matter what type of car you turn up in, we will all be competing in the same.

Some say it is gentle excitement, others "fun nervous", but I can smell it, it is fear.

Fear of being second, fear of being the first to spin, fear of being overtaken, fear of having the slowest average lap time, fear of not having enough driver excuses to cover all your mistakes. Fear of everyone realising you are not the "wheelman" you have countlessly claimed to be.

Fear.

Anyway, for those who don't know Raceland is just off the A1 at the Gladismuir (B6363) junction, about 10 mins south of Edinburgh. If anyone has not got any transport to Raceland please let me know and I will arrange some for you.

We will all need to be at Raceland by 1530 for the initial drivers breifing. Everything else, like suiting up etc., is after the breifing. So be there by 1530.

Trev has very kindly offered to put on a BBQ after the Grand Prix at his flat at Albion Gardens in Edinburgh. He would like to know a rough idea of numbers, so please let me know asap if you would like to attend.

Ed,
I do not have Tom, Steve, James or Jamie's emails so if you could please pass this information on I would be very grateful.

So, it is too late for anymore practise, if you are not ready now you never will be! See you all tomorrow, Duncan. "

Ive responded saying we'll probably all come to the barby.
That ok?! cheers ed

Dave, in the end it was lack of talent that consigned dear edward to the tyre wall

indeed, got hammered last night and felt sh*t this morning. finished 4th, 2nd and 3rd in the heats which meant started in 3rd in the final. One lap in and i took a corner flat, had done in all the other karts, and lost it and hit the tyres head on hard and got stuck, pushed me back down to 16th ish, managed to get back to 8th and thats where i finished. Congrats to scott p(1st), neil p(2nd) and brian(3rd) closely followed by jamie. A decent loti showing, and some great racing. roll on the next one.

Very impressed by the track a really good mix of flat out corners (or almost flat out depending on which kart you got) and tricky slow corners.

Comedy moments were

Half the field stalling on the grid in the 2nd heat

Tom destroying a kart per heat - nice work!

Chasing Tom down then nudging him all the way through the fast corners only for Tom when we came to the 2nd corner to 'forget to brake'

Congratulations and thankyou for some great fair racing from Scott, Neil and Brian

Hope to see Scott using some of his skills at KH soon :D

Yes - well done Scott - and SE-ers in first four places - good result with really close racing.
