Thanks for the input....I am hoping £1.49 doesn't put people off as it really is not a lot of money!! I did consider doing it free with adverts to get some revenue from the app but I really don't want it having ads on it. Apps can be quite expensive and time consuming to develop so a return on investment is needed.....but feedback is noted should the traction not happen. I have a few cunning plans up my sleeves to get things moving....hopefully :thumbsup

I definitely think you want to offer a try before you buy route, Andy. Even at "just" £1.49, people will be suspicious, and it's more the principle.

If you have confidence in the app, offer a cut down version to let people assess for free. If they like, they will pay to upgrade to the multi-car version or whatever ;-)

Just my 2p as a relatively new apps user / buyer...

There will be a Turbo version next year for the upgrade path!
App is what it is now and price fixed. Funny how a few people like to try before ya buy.....I'm gonna call Murrays tomorrow to try this on a new Evora :thumbsup
Free games should be coming for traction and IMO free apps are not so great and everyone knows there is an opportunity to then pay for a real working app! I'd rather cut to the chase and take the cash lol
Most people I think would consider free or tier 1 priced apps as rubbish....but it is defo noted if the uptake is poor initially! :cheers

Android defo catching up compared to iOS but that is spread over many phones from different manufacturers which makes it more difficult to create great looking apps for Android platform....that is why Apple and the iPhone are so cool lol
Android apps are not reviewed prior to release unlike Apple who make sure apps on their store don't break phones, charge unknowingly etc.
Will let you know as soon as droid version is available :thumbsup

Agree about the price - it WILL put people off - I too bought the road trip app after trying the free version but probably wouldn't have if I had to pay from day 1.
You need to get some users on board and some good feedback so I think you need to offer it free for a couple of weeks or for the first 'x' numbers of downloaders then think about putting a purchase price on it.

Good luck btw :thumbsup

Makes sense! I know little about these markets. Best of luck with it, I'm sure it will be a success.

WRT the comments about the cost, the only app I have on my phone that I paid for is endomondo, and that was only after using the free version for about a year. Most of the apps I have are as a result of others recommending them; so hopefully you can get peeps talking about iPetrolhead :thumbsup Other car forums, PH etc must be a good starting point, but I'm sure you are on the case for that :thumbsup

Just bought your app for my iPhone 5.

Exactly what I need, three cars, six bikes a camper van and five taxis to keep track of  Every year something gets missed, drove around with no MOT for five months once due to a mix up

:cheers

Thanks for buying! Best £1.49 you'll ever spend :thumbsup
Read the FAQ on the website as you will get more out of the app probs :cheers

Guys...please talk about this on other forums and indeed anywhere you think someone might want to buy it! I can only cover so much ground by myself so please get on forums, FB, Twitter etc etc and spread the word!!!

Update....(this is my first app so bear with me!)....looks like I can gift some apps and have codes!
If you want a free copy of the app then pm me and it will be on a first come basis! In return can you please promote it to friends etc? There is no such thing as a free lunch :D
I will try and answer any pm's in the evenings as I still have a day job!!
By the way....getting free copy means you are unable to leave reviews on apps store apparantly....which seems a bit strange to me!

If you have already bought.....then it is still a little money well spent :cheers

iCal dump would be good feature.

Group map thing is a good feature too.

I think the picture mod thing, however fun for 20 secs, is superfluous and would turn me off purchasing. I would be tempted to keep the concept clean. You could always run a separate small app called iPetrolhead Photo or something, making a suite rather than one app to do everything. I suppose usage stats will show the path to take though.

iCal dump...what is that?
Photo editor would more suit the young crew showing off their cars on the social media sites than old duffers like you and me....Rag_it already did a pic from the app and added to FB....he must be young and cool haha 8)

Does that mean if we buy the app, we'll also get a share in an Evora? ..... ( a 1 in 26,842 share)
