How much.....

Post by mac » Mon Sep 18, 2006 5:00 pm

would we get for Mandy's S1?

She has her eye on an S2 at the moment as it's slightly more pratical, comfortable and better behaved in the wet.

Cheers

£8k I'd hazard Mac if you wanted a quick sale (that's not an offer). If you can afford to wait, hopefully a bit more :)

97S in azure blue with circa 36k miles on clock.

Will have a full years MOT when it goes.

Pretty much stanadard with Viper induction, stainless Janspeed exhaust with single exige style exit, adjustable avo dampers.

Front balljoints and bearings done this summer.

Exterior paintwork is in fair condition for a properly used elise, the inner sills are a touch scuffed.

Both driver's and pax windows have been rebonded this year (well the drivers one will be shortly)

Has advans all round.

Not looking for a real quick sale - trying to reduce the cost to change as much as possible.

It's pretty much a hypothetical at the moment.

*cough*... are you sure it still has that Janspeed with the oval exit on it... I thought you changed it for the twin exit one similar to the one I had.... *cough* *cough*....

what did you pay for it. Stick it up for that and see how much interest you get. Its a good condition car by all accounts, so it should sell easier than others, although you may not get more money for it.

Neil,

I got it at trade price and since then have done the work (excluding paint) that was required to bring it up to scratch.

Was hoping for 9.5 - 10k but don't know if that's just wishful thinking.

Might be a touch high, given that we're approaching winter.

Good luck with it though as it looks sweet :D

It's a lovely car, but I think that'll be a touch ambitious :(

Good luck though :thumbsup

I hate to say it, but we are the wrong people to ask. The majority of us think our cars are worth more than we would likely get for them. Just ask any owner who has tried to sell their car this year.
When I read your post, my first reaction was £9k, but at this time of year I think Greg may be closer with his £8k.
Still you only need one willing buyer. it is not until you go looking for an elise you realise how few S1's are for sale in Scotland at any given time. You never know!

if you got it at trade, and have spent money bringing it up to scratch then personally i'd be happy to have run around in it for months and it not cost me anything. So i'd price it at whatever you have spent on it in total.

I thought you loved the S1 though, why change

I do love the S1, but then it's not mine.

Mandy much prefers the S2 for the various reasons that a bloke would have his sexual preferences called into question for and I've done far to much to my S2 to just swap.

The 9, 9.5k would more or less cover what I've spent on the car.

cheers
