Hi guys looking for your thoughts on where evora values will bottom out ? Or do you think they have already bottomed out around the £30k mark ?
I am starting to look with a view to buying one and not sure whether to buy an early one or a nearly new one, a supercharged one or just the normal V6.
Also any thought on prefered colours ? I like bright colours like orange and lime green but worried they might be unsaleable further down the line.
Thanks.
Ian
Evora resale values
Re: Evora resale values
Im sure there are those who will disagree but I reckon that they are fairly stable at low 30s, there have been very few below that and then only with high (60k) mileage. There are a few that seem to have been on sale for a while but the spec and colour would account for that.Bright colours still have buyers.
The S seems to sit around £10k higher than the standard car, but that gap has closed a bit recently so it seems the prices are maybe compressing a bit but the bottom line is still holding firm at around £30k

Re: Evora resale values
The number of used for sale has declined (81 on Pistonheads in September, 46 today, a few reasons for this); this, combined with the coming season, will ensure that 2010 plated cars stay over £30k, 2009 Launch Editions or higher mileage cars will be £30k or just below.

Re: Evora resale values
Been tracking them every few months (can link to all the data if wanted) and they've been a bit strange to be honest.
Early 2009 cars were down to £31k over a year ago but advertised prices really haven't dropped since. Other than a couple high mileage (60k+) and LHD models under £30k that's been pretty much the floor so far.
Seen a few 2011 Evora S' under £40k though - £38k for a full spec 2+2 car with 26k miles, £40k for a full spec 2+0 with 5k miles, etc. Means that between the top and bottom end of the (pre-MY12) market is all quite compressed and wouldn't be surprised if the early n/a cars are going to dip further, particularly now they're out of warranty.

I'm inclined to agree, was tracking the prices myself up until the Exige was ordered and I think it's a safe bet they will stay around the 30K mark.

Orange ones are more expensive remember!
They do seem to be steadying out a bit thankfully.. Mine may be for sale soon if you are after Chrome Orange

Re: Evora resale values
I panicked a bit while selling mine as I didn’t get any real interest in November and December. As soon as January came round it was like I had just placed the advert and I received lots of calls!
I think the moral of the story is that these cars are (at least to some extent) seasonal and prices and will vary according to time of year.
I also think that in the under 40k (and potentially 30k) bracket the Evora is a bit different and stands out from most other cars. In Aberdeen they are rare and make 911s and V8 vantages look common!
It is also affordable to run. i.e. I serviced mine recently for £300 odd quid - how much would a Porsche or Aston have been at its first service? also 2 rear OEM tyres for £400.
With no major faults and most still under Lotus warranty I think the 'scary to own an expensive car' factor is removed for a lot of potential owners.
I think the bottom line is that all cars take a big hit from new but they need to find their place in the market and then settle out and the Evora has more or less done that.
As for colour, I wanted any colour except white - its now my favourite! (but obviously I am biased). Chrome Orange and Persion blue are also winners in my opinion.
