Knockhill Track Events

Post by Scooter Boy » Thu Apr 04, 2013 11:16 pm

Anyone got experience of signing up one of the Knockhill Track Days/Event?

If so any recommendations or do or don'ts?

Thanks
Cheers

Have a look here http://www.scottishelises.com/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=6 which is best place for trackday info

Different organisers might use different ways, many members here are regular attendees :D

Turn up in good time. Sign on, usually in Kinnards Restaurant at the far end of the paddock. Listen to the drivers brief. Collect sticker on way out. Some orginisers do sighting laps some don't, if they are head down to pit lane in your car. Drive and have fun.

I read the OP as asking about booking up as in before even arriving at KH?

That's even easier> Find trackday, book, turn up :thumbsup.
There is loads to choose from, SIDC, Track Scotland, KH themselves run quite a few but I would stay away from hot hatch nights or days. Check the Ford RS forum, and some other owner forums quite a few orginise days for their members.

As has been said, plenty to choose from. SIDC and TrackScotland are the ones I prefer and I think Knockhill's own open pit lane events have improved recently ( but I stopped doing them after constant red flags a couple of years ago). But I would be cautious about Hot Hatch events until you've seen one and know what you're letting yourself in for - it's the bottom end of the trackday market and you may not feel comfortable in a decent car.

Great thanks.

Good to know the one's to stay clear from and the one's to attend.

I'd steer clear of anything organised by Knockhill (not just the hot hatch days). Anything by a track day organiser or car club should be okay. Best, PT

I have done plenty of Hot Marque days with no problem, just more red flags than we get for our own events.

The last Hot Marque event that I did was just a bit too full-on for me. See this thread for details:
