Nessie spotted in my footwell....

Not quite but it might well be down there for all I know. I've got about a cm of water on my floor. I've had the odd damp patch(?) now and again but this looks like a bucket full poured onto my floor. That's with my hard top on.
Was the rain THAT bad?

Methinks you should get the doorcards off and play about with the window heights asap.

My car was letting in a bit of water with the hardtop on, but after an hour of fiddling with the windows, its down to a drip or two when parked and none when moving.

skellyjohn - is there water on the sills that suggests it's coming in from the windows? On the VX the windscreen drip tray thing rather excellently drains the water onto the top of the front of the chassis and it aint exactly water tight!

I had the same thing happen a few weeks ago. Nipped out in my lunch hour, braked (broke?) for the lights and noticed a wave moving back and forward in the passenger footwell. Took a moment to realise that meant the drivers side was swimming too... Right enough, trousers were wet right up to the back of my knees. Looked a bit odd back in the office...

My experience was exactly the same as yours OFFSHORE. When I got in the car, I looked at the door sills and there was only a spot or 2 of water. Soon as I drove off..... the sea came in!

My windows look ok. Could the water be coming in elsewhere?

Sit in car, get someone to stand about with a hose, and in a few mins you`ll know!

JJ is right. The water will p*ss in the A pillar join and run down past the sill. The sill (being ally) dries very quickly, so no sign of the path....

...until you brake and discover it's been sitting under the seat...

I use a shower cap which stops the problem completely.

Old CD crystal cases left jammed in the crack between door and sill, catches the water and lets it run out of the car.
