Favourite eatery in Scotland?
Favourite eatery in Scotland?
Hi all,
Just curious to find out which eateries in Scotland you have tried and loved...whether it's pub grub, fine dining, seafood, Chinese etc etc.
For me, my favourite Chinese is the Amber Regent in Glasgow and my favourite Indian used to be Spice in Hamilton but it's went downhill in recent times. My other half and I would love to try the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar for mussels so maybe some time soon!
Fire away!

http://www.applecrossgarden.co.uk/ quieter than the Applecross Inn, and better food. Great road to get there as well
http://www.melvichhotel.co.uk/ Great food, welcoming host, nice rooms and views
http://www.overscaighotel.co.uk/ great location and talented young chef
http://www.roomwithaviewrestaurant.co.uk/ Not Elise friendly access though
http://www.theweerestaurant.co.uk/ Another local establishment worth visiting.

Re: Favourite eatery in Scotland?
Had forgotten about the Badachro Inn,huge wine list for a wee place which is basically in the middle of nowhere.
Like going up to the seasonal "restaurant" on Kerrera but as much for the run and wee ferry journey as the food,Wayfarer I think it's called.
Had a good tapas style meal on the cafe barge in Tarbert harbour last Sat
Always get great food at Glenfinnan House Hotel and was always priced well
Ceilidh Place in Ullapool
Wife liked David Bann in Edinburgh when we tried it (not convinced myself)
Used to be a tour of chippers when we biked at the weekends but think I'll leave it there.

Tried the Mussel Inn in Glasgow a while back, best oysters and mussels I'd had in ages, prices good too.
