Well that was the case with my 330d when I had it.

Saying that - I put mine in the BMW dealer to get diagnosed.
They said that there was leak & they wanted to replace all 6 !
I said to them " this isn't a company car you know"
I took it elsewhere and the diesel s specialist pressure tested them and said 3 out of the 6 were leaking
Got 3 refurb'ed @£250 each !

With me cawing it over to start it for 20 secs, I fooked the starter motor

I ended up parking it on a hill and bump started it when I could, or waited till it cooled down - it started first turn when cold

Thanks for that!

Well here goes.... :blackeye

I left work that fateful day, straight to train station and hopped on a train to Dundee, then on to the train for Aberdeen and arrived in Aberdeen at 8.08pm. Guy was meant to meet me at the station. I waited for 20 mins and was getting pretty cheesed off so called him, rang out... text him, nothing... Called a further 19 times, ringing out each time.. pretty angy at this point I decided to doorstep his house... I walked there and met Clarky on the way, we arrived at a block of flats, no idea which one was his so I proceeded to ring every buzzer and clarky decided to look round the corner.. Result, Clarky found a Polish household and we got them to the door saying their Passat was in his way lol, they went for the key, my foot wedged in the door lol... Once they came back out I explained the situation and they didn't really understand. "The guy selling is my brother, he not here, he at work" so I told them I needed the docs as I was taking the car, a look round the car flagged a couple of issues I wasnt expecting.

With the guy being at work we had agreed a price the night before on the phone so I said OK I'll just take the car dispite the issues I noticed and as such adjusted the price slightly to suit. obviously all agreed. This picture is the sellers girlfriend signing a reciept for the sale of the car for the agreed sum!

The next day the phone goes and a Polish rant bekons me.... now he want more monies.. we not agree price I want all asking price, I had knocked £200 off on the phone prior to travelling and negotiated another 100 off while there! Buuuuuut the man from Poland he say no, the next day.... He states the price (Full asking price) was with no MOT or tax, even though MOT and tax are stated in the ad? and said he was selling for a friend and he put the MOT and tax on the car and also wanted profit for himself over the original asking price, no mention of the agreed reduced price.. a few threats passed my way.. I explained that he has no idea who I might be and should button his lip before winding himself in a world of trouble... He said he wanted the car back in that case, so I told him that might actually be an option as he's not getting another penny off me, and I was getting cheesed off with the whole situation!

A day later I called him to tell him to come get his car, he wanted me to return it to him... I laughed out loud, very loud LOL.. so he passed a comment about having the car recovered at my expense as he was cancelling the sale... another hearty roar of laughter ensued and I said I'll not be paying anything, if he wants it recovered he'd best have all the funds back in my hands first.. He hung up the phone like a child! I called him back to see when he wanted his car back? at this point he said he spoke to the seller who was now paying him for the MOT, the tax and giving him his profit from the sale now so I could keep the car..... Utter ballache of a transaction but now I have a B6 Passat 140TDi sport at what I consider a steal even if it does require a little TLC, nice smooth big motor, I'm enjoying the fuel comsumption up from 25-30mpg on my A4 to an average high 40's low 50's in the passat, I've already done almost 1000 trouble free miles.. I even drove it carefully to work the other day, 35 odd miles and managed an average of 60.1MPG... Much awesomeness from the big cruiser...

So thanks Clarky for all your help in finding the right door and also for checking her over for me :thumbsup
