I have more watches than I care to admit to on here........... but with bank interest rates what they are etc. etc.
As Tut states, It may seem strange spending the equivalent of the "family car" on a timepiece, but for me its all about the engineering effort it takes to make one in this digital age.
I started my own collection after seeing a Bond film where 007 chose a watch from a splendid case in his equally splendid dressing room.
My advice would be to buy the best branded used watch you can afford rather than a new Christopher Ward/TW Steel or any of the others than have jumped on the bandwagon.
The Panerai is a good choice and will always look a tad different from other watches.
I have worn one now as an everyday beater for 16 years and with a recent refurb it looks good as new.
If you apply the same research and effort on your prospective watch purchase as you do on your cars........ it's amazing what you may find - A work colleague managed to pick up a lightly used Radiomir on Gumtree for £1200. (The owner thought it too heavy on the wrist)

In the interests of balance............I also have a Seiko Monster (£120) which has the build quality (Case and Bracelet) of my Daytona at £8400

Out of interest I looked up Christopher Ward. For me so many of the Chronographs look the same, but this is simple and clear and looks beautifully made.

I also like the exposed movement which seems to be a special piece of engineering, and naming it Harrison was neat. If I wore a watch that would do me nicely.

I've got two seikos now, one cost £100 and one £300 and both are exceptional in terms of build quality and general "ooh that's nice"ness.

The £300 baby tuna especially so.

My fairly recent daily beater is one of the Boag unloved. ;)

I like it (which is I guess the most important thing, esp as I don't consider it an investment), nice Lotus connection...

Some classic watches are timeless......

Hey guys,

Quick question. I'm still on the hunt for a speedy pro so I just went over to TZ-UK to register but it says that registration has been disabled?

Have too many people joining up lately and so the admins have capped it?
